So if you think for one minute JS will NOT speak up when on the board, you are incorrect. If you think he isn't running because he would have "lost" the county race, check the facts. The county race in district 4 is more more republican friendly than the town race. Duanesburg votes handily for JS and it is like having an extra party line. The town race is more challenging, due to enrollments. However, being "afraid to lose" isn't in his DNA. he wouldn't have run in the first place when Bill Barnes, John Macejka, and Dave Leon were all in that first race. He would have quit against Judy Dagostino and Christine Mallozzi in the second. ALL big, big, big names in town. So don't worry about his motives. He is not afraid of anything or anyone except God above. Whether you believe him or not, he will vote his conscious even if the Cabernet wine set says his is gauche and insensitive for being "against" things. Average people are sick of the crap and the go-along-quietly-to-fiscal-ruin style of voting.

End of story.

Enjoy the rest of the summer and stay safe and dry. God bless.

You forgot to mention your two faced conservative Uncle John Claughsey who by Paul Brown's insistence gave you that election!  Whata a crock of rotten candy!

What drugs are you on today? LOL Uncle who?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

GB ~ I am kinda suprised that you would support the type of name calling "idiot" that your friend MT posted.

As for your dissertation on Surhada's life in politics, are you for real?  First, your idol Surhada continues to duck the issue of creating the new tax district.  YOU know EVERYTHING about him, but you too continue to duck the issue, we'll see how that works out for him.  He ducks the issue because he is what I have been saying all along, a self-serving Tommasone kool-aid drinking liberal.  You can talk that talk all you want when you're in the minority, what happens when you try this in the majority?  Just have him ask his pal Mertz.

The new Republican guard has a proven record of creating new taxes, expanding government, bowing to unions, closing the blinds on sunshine on their activities, bully politics and political cannibalism!  And your idol Joe is right smack in the middle of the pack.

I say vote them all out and start with new fresh faces.  People who want to serve the community for the right reasons, not their egos.  Buchanan bragged about his Republican majority ~ then full Republican board ~ now he'll watch it crumble because he's incompetent to lead the party.

Bring back the Old Guard!  They had more honor than these jokers.

Wow: To say Kosiur was well qualified is to demonstrate how deep the hypnosis is working. The facts are the dems removed civil service protections from the job, rewrote the job specs to allow someone without a college edumacation to get the job, and then they gave him $80k for the position, the former position paid $50K

they never posted it, never offered it to anyone else. it was tailor-made for him. pure patronage. And what has he done since with the position?

I love a good joke, that is why I come here.

Not to mention that a qualified person was kicked to the curb to open up a spot for Lumpy Kosiu?. But don't tell Puddy he is under the delusion that not one person was thrown out when the DEMS took over the County. LOL!

Felipe is also on a roll. Because of complete dereliction of duty the DEMS are flooding into town to take it back. This is just the beginning of T-shirt clad DEMS at your doorstep spewing the party line.

First, smoking bananas hit the lumpy lump right on the head!!!! Correct-o!

Second, we don't want the 'old guard' back as filipe stated. The old liberal guard is the reason why we are in this mess today. They are prowling around like the fox ready to hit the hen house from all angles and it is happening at all levels in this county.

Third, we were hopeful when the reps took control. They also, like the dems and cons, failed us miserably!

Forth, our local dems, reps and cons have failed all of us taxpayers miserably. They are all politically and personally motivated with no concern for the us, the taxpayers.

Fifth, now is the time to join the NO NEW TAX party. It appears to be a grassroots movement with people who have thrown their hat in this insane political arena for US...THE TAXPAYERS! They clearly deserve our support and votes!!!!

Here is our chance folks!

GB has an obsession with JS.  It seems like JS is not happy unless tilting at windmills.

I agree voters are fed up with the "crap".  But it is the bitterness, the false dichotomies between us and them, rural and urban, "leftists" and "rightists" that have them yearning for a political discourse that is productive.

GB and JS are good at cliches and what I think are uninformative labels designed to stoke the Amen choir.  They are good at casting differences of opinion about what government should or should not do in terms that implicate others' decency.

I think the people want progress and JS has had 8 years to deliver something and by his own admission seems to have been ineffective, often "alone".

I agree with GB the people will decide.  And if the people of Rotterdam cast the same verdict on him they cast four years ago, JS will lose.  GB is right: Rotterdam is different than district four.

Finally it is telling GB couldn't come up with something JS has done and instead gave a further list of things he has opposed.

In defense of js and the few reps that are on the county leg....the dems would not even hear last years budget plan that the reps wanted to propose. The dems never even gave them a chance to speak. The dominated the county leg floor with out even a nod to the reps.

Now perhaps it would have happened the exact same way if the reps were in the majority and the dems in the minority. But that is exactly what 'we the people' are sick and tired of. There is clearly NO equal representation.

That is why the 'no new tax' party is such a breath of fresh air.

Joe Suhrada STOPPED the wasteful Downtown library expansion and SCCC Music Relocation that the faculty and students were against. This saved the County sheeple MILLIONS in wasteful spending. Love the term "naysayers". Many times they are right and the cheer leaders wrong over here.

Unfortunately Joe S is not seeking reelection for County Legislature. He got thrown under the town board bus. What a great fiscal conservative ticket Brad Littlefield & Joe could have been. Two articulate leaders against Metrograft, against small business destruction, against higher County property taxes, for job creation, for rebuilding our industrial base. Now? There's a real possibility Joe and Stan The Man will be left without a chair when the music stops.

Quoted from GB from another thread.................
Quoted from GrahamBonnet
Yeah, they have "tackled" something other than the most important issues. they have tackled the taxpayer, roughed him up, and kicked him when he was down. But don't worry there will be Democrat landslides coming shortly, according to the bloggers here. After all, they have the banks, the corporations, the unions, and the government run media on their side. If not the tax payers, anyway.

Relax GB. And please realize that IF the dems pull a landslide victory, which I hope and pray not, the blame falls squarely on the rep and con parties for poor leadership and a lost ideology.

I mean come on now....the cons endorsing  dems? Ridiculous!
HV turns from rep to con to dem....where does she stand? Ridiculous!
The reps throw mertz under the bus and drag JS from the county to run against his own party-man to take his place? Ridiculous!

This is all politically and personally motivated, with clearly NO LEADERSHIP or concern for the taxpayers from the dems, reps or cons.

The No New Tax party has emerged just in time!

JS stopped the downtown library expansion?  JS stopped the music department relocation?  Really?

GB should not panic yet.  There isn't going to be any landslides.  The electorate in Rotterdam is sharply divided philosophically and is always unpredictable.

Mr. Tommasone has received much warm press recently -- the FEMA cash to pave roads and the master plan moving forward.  He's the media darling big winner of the week.  Contrary to those who say he has a big ego, I have always found him jovial, self depricating and modest.  What's an example of his ego?

The Dems are out in numbers going door to door, I've heard reports and seen myself.  Compared to the last few cycles this is noteworthy.  The local Ds seem to have found some umpf this year that was missing before.

The No Taxers, (purportedly under a banner that read 'Don't Tread On Me'  ),  are on the street.  I've seen them.

I am left to wonder what the RPE (Republican Power Establishment) is doing.  Neither seen hide nor hair?

I don't know nor do I care if ST has an ego or not. Personally, I think they ALL do!

I don't want a one party rule, which we are about as close as you can get to one with the dems, still isn't enough for me to vote 'the other guy (reps). The old cliche, 'voting for the lesser of two(three) evils' is appropriate here. The reps and dems and cons are all one in the same.

And that is why the 'no new tax' party deserves the support and votes! IMHO
