Tell Joe, good luck in November.  Hopefully after the election, conservatives can lick their wounds and develop a unified message that takes the interest of the people they represent into consideration.

The ones in office already do take the interest of the people they represent into consideration, each and every day, whether you agree with them all the time or not.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Really????  Why would the Republican Party withdraw their endorsement of sitting Town Councilman John Mertz who was elected by the people of the Town of Rotterdam, that you claim the Republican Party supposedly stand to represent?  And when John wins the Republican primary, I would like you to give a logical explanation as to WHY the Republicans refused to endorse councilman John Mertz who was elected by the Rotterdam voters.  What was Parisi's quote in the Gazette, Mertz was "controversial".  As if Suhrada wasn't controversial at the County level.

The ones in office only consider their self interest and that of party leadership who endorses them.(Dem or Repub)  Mertz's so called controversy was because he sees where Rotterdam is wasting money, and certain political players in the town didn't enjoy him shining a light on it.(ex:RPD)  Now he's opposing a taxing district for the REMS - Creating yet another public union and public jobs that can be done by the private sector.

God forbid an elected official looks to trim the budget fat, no matter how unpopular.  Even if it meant examining the RPD budget.  Mr. Mertz stood by his principles, and it left him in bad standing with the Rotterdam GOP.

In my opinion, Mr. Suhrada should have respectfully declined the endorsement for town council for the fact that he knew he was replacing an incumbent from his own party.  That would have shown true leadership, and possibly created more unity within the party.  That could have been a defining moment for Mr Suhrada.  But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,too late.

Instead of commas, try periods in groups of three...like that.

If Suhrada declined the nomination, someone else would have gotten it besides John Mertz. The committee would not back him for one reason or another. Now there is a primary and people can pick the two council candidates they want, if they are registered Republicans.

Two term County Legislator carries NO weight in the Rotterdam GOP?  Did Mr. Suhrada make his case to the committee people in favor of a Mertz endorsement before they decided who they were going to vote?

So who has the power again,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the elected official or the party puppeteers.

Rotterdam Republican Chairman could care less about message.  He just wants to rally the troops and protect his cash cow - the Town of Rotterdam, and for his personal gain.  He is promoting a losing message to preserve his hundred thousand+ he receives from the Town taxpayer. IMHO

couldn't be truer.....listen to the old folks of past power/sheeple etc......the trunks of cars and the money that was in them.....

cant have that driving around without an 'escort' of protection.....

Mertz is a high vote getter and very well admired in the community. Suhrada and Bob 'no change' have their work cut out for them. Suhrada's endorsement is still confusing people and 'no change'....well..........cause he's NO CHANGE!

this party will fade away like a tan after the election, it will attract maybe 400 votes, total.

the revolution will go no where because while everyone hates taxes no one wants to lose their services and this party is silent in what it will do when -- if it wins -- it has to balance the budget without no new taxes. ask them the question..... bet they can't answer.

do you know what is most cynical about this whole thing -- all the candidates on this party line are seeking major and minor party endorsements through primaries. if they has so much faith in their new party, why not just run on the single line?

I for one am willing to have the town/city cut services in order to lower taxes.

No tax district for REMS keep it private and either earn enough money to pay for itself or go under. Lawn and leaf pickup could be cut as well.

400 votes? lol. The NO NEW TAX PARTY will spread Countywide to replace the CONS party which has became another KRAT liberal echo. The NO NEW TAX Party will attract more votes than all the other third party lines-put together.

It's really funny to read stooges and dupes from both the major parties attack this line because it actually stands for something. A year round tan-Miami stylin!

Are you saying that there is absolutely no where in our over inflated budget to cut? Really?

And seeking a major party line is exactly what it states.....ANOTHER LINE! It is a 'line'....not the party's support.

You're comparing apples to oranges here.
