Brain McGarry is the fiscal CONS running for Supervisor {against Steve T} not Town Board. Who cares who John Mertz chatted with at the Festa, at least he was there campaigning. Rumors of his unpopularity are totally unfounded. Saw him with a huge crowd of supporters and well wishers. The REP primary is shaping up as a complete rout.

Saw Brad Littlefield there buying fried dough for his family and friends. The other candidates are all hiding. They are under strict orders from party bosses not to post anything.

I agree...could care less who is at what! We want change and we want a conservative ideology. That is what gets my vote.

Historically, tonko has been to every single function known to man. Kissing babies and shaking hands. Sure, it may keep him in office....but clearly just another airplane circling and going nowhere. The sheople are awakening!

I'm sure the other candidates are under strict orders to not post here. They are ALL watching where this is all gonna go! Time will tell folks...time will tell!

What does this have to do with the NO NEW TAX PARTY? Hull's NO PILOT PARTY is going nowhere. Not surprised he couldn't qualify for the ballot. Roger Hull could not be elected dogcatcher.

Of course the DEMS will sweep Commie Clyde-hard to lose when running unopposed? Maybe they will lose Nisky supervisor to a blank? Mr. Blank is running for alot of REP offices.

I have lived in more than 10 states in the last 22 years (I'm retired military), and this is the first place I have lived with taxes like these.  If I had any idea that my mortgage pmt would INCREASE by city taxes of $550/month between Nov 2008 and May 2009 I would never have purchased property here.

The person at my mortgage company help line almost choked the last time I called her to increase my automatic payment.  She said she lives in Ky and has not seen anyone else with increases like Rotterdams.

I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT THE FOLKS ON FIXED INCOME ARE FEELING!!!  My advise to those I hear are moving to the Capital District  are "don't move to Schenectady County, you'll choke on the property taxes."

I have not seen the NO NEW TAXES petition    BUT   I   WANT   TO SIGN   IT!!!!!  WHERE DO I SIGN UP??

I am retired military (still working) and have lived in 10 places in the last 22 years.  This is the first place I have lived with property taxes like we have here.  My mortgage payment has increased due to increased Rotterdam city taxes by $550/month since Nov 2008.  If I had any idea that this area has property taxes 79% higher than the national average I would not have bought property here.

The mortgage help line person almost choked when I called AGAIN to increase my monthly automatic payment.  She said she has never seen taxes like Rotterdam taxes on any other mortgage accounts she has pulled up.

When I hear of someone moving to this area I warn them not to buy property in Schenectady County.

I CANNOT IMAGINE HOW THE FOLKS ON FIXED INCOME ARE DEALING WITH THESE TAXES.    HOW DO I SIGN THAT PETITION YOU GUYS WANT TO TURN IN ON 18 AUG???

First, this state, from the top down is TOP HEAVY. There are taxpaid patronage jobs everywhere.
....did I mention PORK!

Second, unions play a huge roll in this tax mess. I believe they are the largest lobbying group and the largest campaign contributors.
....did I mention PORK!

Third, we offer about the best welfare in the country. Come on over!
....did I mention PORK!

Fourth, there are 'so called' non-profits EVERYWHERE that receive a good chunk of taxpayer's change. Just an extension of the government.
....did I mention PORK!

Fifth, Public sector jobs are more plentiful than private sector. State workers, County workers, Town workers....OH MY!
...did I mention PORK!

Sixth, Schenectady county (taxpayers) pay for a county nursing home that SHOULD BE privatized. But that ain't gonna happen cause the workers are UNION. Ya know...votes for jobs!
...did I mention PORK!

..........and the list goes on......

People from out of State realizes what a mess we have in NYS and especially Schenectady County. Taxes in North Carolina-$800 per year school only NO TOWN TAX-- NO COUNTY PROPERTY TAXES! And the schools are better than here-especially the horrible {bottom 1% in the State} City schools.

The NO NEW TAX PARTY is an idea whose time has come. The incumbent KRATS must have opposition. What's happened in the City, Niskayuna and Glenville is a disgrace and dereliction of duty. Get involved-sign the petition and help gather signatures. My sources indicate they have more than enough names but the more the merrier to stop the usual stooge challenges.

The no new tax party should gather many more signatures than needed because the parties in power will try to eliminate as many signatures as they can to try and stop any competition on the ballot.
