I guess MT gave up on his defense of the GOP voter suppression plan in Florida.
The FACTS must have overwhelmed his opinion.

No Tom, unlike you I'm not glued to this screen all day long.  It's a holiday weekend, I'm not sitting at the keyboard all day.  Just got back from Saratoga National Cemetery visiting and memorializing relatives and everyone there that paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Why don't you go outside - it's a beautiful day!

OK... SO YOU BLAME THE INEPT REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR???
We agree.
Time to get rid of this poser Republican Governor and replace him with someone who can purge the voter
registration rolls of illegals, but protect the rights of the actual Citizens.

The problem is bigger than 1 governor and it started decades ago, neither party took border security seriously for years, to them it was just a hot topic issue to sway votes one way. How many elections did we hear the promise of "I will secure the border" only for jack sh*t to happen, the right promises to seal the border while the left promises immigration reform. I come to the conclusion nothing will come of it and it will be the legal citizens who will suffer in the end just like what happened here. I believe he was trying to do the right thing but the system is so fcked up right now there was bound to be mistakes.

Unlike you MT, I spent much of yesterday on the lake... today after watching the Memorial Day parade, and
mowing my lawn, I hooked up my hammock in the back yard, and worked in my garden.
Later today (if it doesn't rain) I plan on spending a few hours on the lake in a Jet Ski.
Your advice to "go outside" is not the best advice, since even though I used sunscreen yesterday, I have a
very slight burn.

With modern convinces (like an IPAD) it is no longer necessary to be tied inside to a computer screen in order
to post. WiFi allows me to sit in the shade, while sipping an iced tea and posting.

I went to the Saratoga National Cemetery last year.  An honorable place... (too bad it's named after such
a dishonorable man.)
We also visited the Saratoga Battlefield that day.  A good place to learn about our history.

Mistakes??? Is that what you call it???
Voter suppression in 2000 took 7000 eligible voters from the rolls... many of them AMERICAN CITIZENS.

A convenient "MISTAKE" when the majority of those purged who are citizens are from the opposite party.

This is NO MISTAKE... It's VOTER SUPPRESSION.

I think you've been in the sun a little too long.

Summary of MT's advice:
Go out in the sun...
You've been out in the sun too long...
Go get some more sun...

Laws change and people have no choice but to adapt to them. If the law says ya gotta have proof before ya vote.........then ya gotta have proof.

We have to provide proof for drinking, driving, entering school, applying for a job, applying for welfare, a marriage license, applying for a bank loan, to join the armed forces, picking kids up from school...etc............what's the big whoop here?

You asked for you....you got it.......GOV ALMIGHTY HAS SPOKEN!!!!

We have already presented this argument MULTIPLE times in this thread, but it keeps getting skipped over in order to follow the marching orders.

You don't understand the problem Bumble.
In Florida, with out your knowledge, the Republican Governor is removing CITIZENS from the voters registry.
If you registered to vote, and haven't moved, you don't have to register again EVER!  When a CITIZEN of the
USA shows up to vote, he will find that he can no longer vote because his name has been REMOVED from the
registry.
This issue IS NOT about showing an ID... If the voter has 10 valid forms of ID, it won't matter.  He will still
NOT be allowed to vote.
Voter Suppression worked in 2000, and it may again decide the results of the election in Florida.

So now you suddenly have a problem with the executive branch of a state government violating a citizens rights without their knowledge OR DUE PROCESS?  Quite the revelation.  I'll bet if the governors name was Obama and they called illegals "terrorists", and claimed they were terrorizing democracy, you'd be fine with it.

Yet thugs with batons, sticks, canes can stand outside polling places intimidating the hell out of voters, and Boxy doesn't have an issue with it.

Of course I do.  They should be arrested.  Don't you agree?

Instead of purging the voting rolls, Rick Scott should have put them on the kill list.  Democrats would be cheering him.
