HOUSTON, TX - Friday afternoon at an early polling place located at 6719 W. Montgomery Road in Houston, NAACP members were seen advocating for President Barack Obama according to volunteer poll watchers on location at the time.
According to Eve Rockford, a poll watcher trained by voter integrity group True the Vote, three NAACP members showed up to the 139 precinct location with 50 cases of bottled water and began handing bottles out to people standing in line. While wearing NAACP labeled clothing, members were "stirring the crowd" and talking to voters about flying to Ohio to promote President Barack Obama.
Will New Black Panthers be back this year? King Samir Shabazz , the local leader of the New Black Panther Party, caused an uproar on Election Day in 2008 when he was videotaped with a billy club outside a polling place.

THEY MAY BE back in black for Tuesday's election - the uber-controversial New Black Panther Party.
But now with 100 percent less nightstick.
You'll recall, especially if you've ever listened to conservative talk radio, that it was right here that the Election Day 2008 appearance of two local leaders of the smallish black-power posse outside a polling station at 12th and Fairmount in North Philadelphia - one brandishing a large nightstick - became a national controversy.
Critics said it was an open-and-shut case of voter intimidation and that the U.S. Justice Department, whose probe began in the Bush administration and ended during President Obama's term, let the New Black Panthers duo off too easy.
But the national leader of the group, Malik Zulu Shabazz, told a radio interviewer in September that the New Black Panthers - labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and others for its anti-white and anti-Semitic rhetoric - might be out monitoring some polling places again in 2012.

Above... The story from a TeaBagger Right Wing Site.
Below... actual news:
The Huston Chronicle... Assistant Harris County Attorney Doug Ray, stated to the paper:
"What the NAACP people were doing was trying to identify people with disabilities and move them to the front of line so they could vote right away out of turn. "
"Assistant Harris County Attorney Doug Ray said he witnessed no electioneering at the Sunnyside polling place but said if people at other sites were advocating for candidates they should have been instructed to stop."
Basically, the NAACP were there to assist the crowd waiting to vote, passing out bottles of water, and attempting to assist anyone with disabilities waiting in line.

After watching what was occurring, Rockford approached Polling Supervisor Rose Cochran about what she was seeing.
"I went to the polling supervisor and let her know that it was not appropriate that they were in the building handing out water. She ignored me. I repeated my statement. She told me that she would handle it. She did nothing. I then went to the assistant supervisor and he stood up, walked over to another table and then sat down. I then walked into the waiting room and they were reloading another dolly with more cases of water," Rockford said in a True the Vote incident report.
After handing out water and advocating for President Obama, the NAACP members started handpicking and moving people to the front of a long voting line inside the polling place according to the incident report. After multiple complaints from voters about the line cutting, Rockford received a phone call from downtown telling her to “stand down.” http://townhall.com/tipsheet/k.....p;
Evidence Suggests PA GOP Poll Watchers Systematically Targeting African American Precincts
WASHINGTON, DC - After receiving information indicating that the Pennsylvania Republican Party and the Pittsburgh Tea Party may be systematically sending poll watchers to predominantly African American precincts in Pittsburgh, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Common Cause, The Advancement Project, The Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the ACLU, together with a number of local community groups, sent a letter to Assistant U.S. Attorney General Thomas Perez, who is responsible for enforcing the Voting Rights Act, asking that the Justice Department "make every effort to ensure that voters at these targeted locations are able to cast their ballots freely and fairly" and also to ask the Pennsylvania Republican Party about the source of its lists and the basis of its targeting.
"We have seen their list and it strongly suggests that the Pennsylvania Republican Party is coordinating with the Pittsburgh Tea Party to target African American voters for intimidation at the polls," said Nicole Berner, SEIU Associate General Counsel. "The Pennsylvania Republican Party has serious questions to answer about where they are putting their poll watchers and why."

Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart, though, told FoxNews.com the NAACP representatives "were in there illegally" despite their intentions. He also acknowledged that the election judges on site didn't "really take control."

The Republican National Committee claims "it appears to be illegal activity involving Democratic and Obama campaign operatives engaged in absentee ballot canvassing."
Meanwhile, in Oregon, there is a ballot-tampering investigation. Reports say a county clerk may have filled in the names of Republican candidates that voters left blank. And outside Cincinnati, there are concerns that voters registered at a vacant lot could be used for voter-fraud purposes. Eighteen people are registered to vote there, even though the trailer park that was once there was removed three years ago.

Oregon election worker fired for altering ballots to Republican straight ticket
Willamette Week, has identified the woman as Deanna Swenson, 55, of Oregon City, who until last Wednesday was working as a temporary employee at the county elections office. Swenson is now facing a criminal investigation, after elections officials say she filled in mailed ballots where voters left their preferences blank.
When asked how many ballots were involved, Swenson replied tearfully, “Only the two.”

They still needed a judges order to get in... Voter intimidation occurs on both sides, whether you want to admit it or not.
