And the Justice departments assumption is if you are poor or are a minority, you are less likely to have your birth certificate than anyone else.

And I ask why do they assume this?
What about minorities that aren't poor?
What about poor people that aren't minorities?

The justice dept is investigating to find out if the Mississippi is a violation of the Voting Rights Act.
I don't know of any other assumptions.

I think you and I can find some common ground on this birth certificate issue.  I see no need for the government to even issue a birth certificate. Why does the government need documentation of every birth and require it for things like passports and enrollment into government schools?

so one could possibly one day become president and vote...

Judge Voids Wisconsin Voter ID Law

A Dane County judge on Tuesday permanently barred enforcement of the photo identification requirements
of Wisconsin's voter ID law, saying that it imposes too great a burden on voters in Wisconsin than the state
constitution allows.

In the  state of Pennsylvania, similar lawsuits are also pending:
At least two lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the law are pending in state Commonwealth
Court — one filed by a legal team that includes the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania, the
other by the Allegheny County Board of Elections. A trial on the ACLU suit is scheduled to start July 25.

how will they get by the ID required for national healthcare and folks making sure they are paying their
'fair share'....it requires ID does it not?

this is getting really interesting now

1. ID to prove you are NOT a terrorist
2. ID to prove you have health insurance
3. ID to prove you can vote

can I hear a:

We all know blacks are too stupid to have an ID card of any sort, so says Box. Only whites and 'rich' people have a form of ID.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

"Papers Comrade"... Like when the former governor of Arizona was stopped by border agents and held for
an hour because he didn't have his papers.
Not Jan Brewer... she's white and blonde...
the former Hispanic American Governor Raul Castro.

For some mysterous reason, Raul gets detained until he can produce papers:

While Governor Jan Brewer does not:

And, they mysteriously have the required ID's for that!    Interesting, huh?

speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Senders... there you go again.  Allowing your personal bias to show in your posts...
Why do you suppose the people losing their vote are all "disadvantaged AND poor"???

Read the original post that opened this thread...
~ A US CONGRESSMAN DENIED HIS RIGHT TO VOTE!

or

The 93 year old lady in post #35, who's voted in every election since Kennedy.

OR

Post #57 where Rep John Lewis speaks about voter suppression in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi
and Texas, who were denied the vote because of race.  Not just "poor or disadvantaged blacks", but
all blacks.

Or

Bill Internicola is a 91-year-old, Brooklyn-born, World War II veteran. He fought in the Battle of the Buldge and
received the Bronze Star for bravery. He’s voted in Florida for 14 years and never had a problem.
Three weeks ago, Bill received a letter from Broward County Florida stating “You are not a U.S. Citizen” and
therefore, ineligible to vote. He was given the option of requesting “a hearing with the Supervisor of Elections,
for the purpose of providing proof that you are a United States citizens” or forfeit his right to vote.

Or

Successful Businesswoman Maureen Russo was born in Akron, Ohio.
(Not Poor or Disadvantaged at all)

For the last 40 years she’s operated a dog boarding and grooming business — Bobbi’s World Kennels —
with her husband in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Maureen is 60 years old and has been a registered voter in the
state for the last four decades. She regularly votes at the church around the corner from her home.
Two weeks ago she received a letter from the State of Florida informing her that they had received
information that she was not born in this country and, therefore, was ineligible to vote.
She was given an option to request “an administrative hearing to present evidence” disputing the
determination of the State of Florida that she was ineligible to vote.

I will say again...

when some lackey tells me what is 'fair share' and what I should have and here are your papers for access, I tend to
be skeptical....

or how about "this will prevent another 9/11"
Patriot Act/homeland security?

YOU CAN'T VOTE UNLESS:

the masses are scared enough to get a RealID for healthcare/travel/trade/access.....

pay attention....the web being woven is worse than what I say....

I just added that those folks being used as fodder(poor, less than 1%ers) during election time, had better not take that
medicine off that spoon lest they lose themselves...

these folks are dressing up the diversion of voting access....
