You people do understand that there is really no such thing as an 'assault weapon'

The MSM doesn't even know the difference between a semi-auto and a full auto weapon.

Interesting how the press is calling congressmen who support the status quo pro-gun where they call pro-abortion members as pro-choice.

I, unlike a few on this board, don't fear the police.  The police seldom carry assault weapons on regular duty,
and don't usually need them.  On rare occasions, the police would be outgunned if they had none at their
disposal.
Owning a gun for self protection is not unreasonable in most cases.  Owning a machine gun, flame thrower or
rocket launcher IS unreasonable.  I feel the same way about assault weapons.

I support the 2nd amendment... and I support good gun laws.

I don't think any one here fears the police....but the question is who gets to draw the line called 'reasonable'...because
what you are doing is allowing a 1% to rule you....yet you complain about them when the MONEY is an issue....

that's funny and bizarre

weapons can't assault....HUMANS DO THE ASSAULTING.......unless there is somewhere we keep weapons because
they are charged and found guilty of such....

Really Senders??? Check with Cicero, Henry and others on the board.  The Police, or anyone in uniform IS THE
ENEMY!

From Henry's "School Shooting post #133:
Quoted from Henry

Oh but our police need them to fight the same bad guys you want us to be defensless against, face it you have no argument, when the police and military disarm then maybe we can talk.

See Senders... They fear the police.

Wrong I said I don't rely on them for my safety unlike you, but again that is somehow wrong in your eyes

Your above post (#133) is about FEAR of the Police in Personnel Carriers... not quite a tank but along the same
thinking.
IF THE COPS HAVE A TANK... I NEED A TANK.

So to Box this man has the right to own this firearm, this guy relies on it for his safety against bad guys with guns

On the other hand to Box this civilian who also wishes to use this for his safety should not have that right, this civilian lives in the same country as those same bad guys as above but to box it doesn't matter. This gun should be confiscated according to Boxy

Buck,
Again you post with your assumptions, not FACTS.  Why do you suppose that I own no guns?
Why do you suppose that I oppose the 2nd amendment?

Personally I'm for strong gun laws (especially pistols) and I support the 2nd amendment.

Nothing wrong with a law abiding citizen owning guns.
The majority of people who own guns have them for hunting, sport and protection. Some collect antique guns as a hobby.
Law abiding citizens respect their guns, they keep them in a safe place, they keep them unloaded.
If there are children in the house you keep the guns locked up with ammo locked up.

There will always be the awful small percentage who have NO regard for human life. And they will take life by a gun, a knife, by their own hands.

When you live in a violent neighborhood or any neighborhood for that matter and police response time is not what it should be... for example when a guy was trying to get into my front door and had to call the police three times and a half hour later they finally showed up.

Well if someone is breaking into my home and I feel threatened for myself and family I cannot be sure police would be here in time if my life is in danger.

Of course anyone who cares for their family would protect them any way they can, and if that is loading their gun and having to use it ......

Gun laws are not going to stop violent crimes.  Criminals will get guns by any means necessary, they do not go into a gun store, they get them off the
streets.

And the deranged pyschos who have committed these mass murders there is no hell hot enough for them.
