Its fun watching Box go after the NRA as if what they say somehow represents all gun owners You probably haven't noticed box but many gun owners are leaving the NRA and are now supporting the GOA, to many gun owners the NRA has been weak in protecting our rights.
The NRA supports responsible gun ownership and safety. They have classes all the time all across the country.

The NRA actually supports the Arms companies. Everything else is just PR.

Bloomberg is an idiot. He said they have guns that shoot nuclear warheads. What an idiot. He's talking about depleted uranium made into bullets, then spread across countries like Iraq to destroy the DNA of the inhabitants for centuries. He then claims that having powerful penetrating bullets have only one purpose, to kill cops. Of course no criminal ever owned a vest or hid behind a metal object. Chuck Willary is great.
They DO have artillery fired small nukes...have had since the Cold War days.
Depleted uranium rounds are used in tank killer rounds to add weight and increase penetration. (LOL @ "destroying DNA! )

A new CNN/ORC poll taken in the wake of the Connecticut school shooting finds that a narrow majority -- 52% -- of Americans now support major restrictions on owning guns or an outright ban on gun ownership by ordinary citizens. Further, 43% say the shooting makes them more likely to support more gun restrictions, up 15 points since the January 2011 shooting in Tucson, AZ.
Said pollster Keating Holland: "All of those numbers are much higher than they were in a CNN poll conducted in January, 2011, indicating that the tragedy in Connecticut may be affecting more Americans more intensely than other recent attacks."
Key finding: There is a significant gender gap, with 62% support for major gun restrictions among women compared with 41% among men, and an even larger partisan gap, with nearly 80% support among Democrats but only 42% among independents and 31% among Republicans.

The New Jersey Attorney General’s office said on Tuesday that a record 1,137 firearms had been turned in as part of cash-for-guns program in just two days after last week’s shootings in Newtown, Connecticut.
At least five semi-automatic assault rifles were among the weapons collected at the “Guns for Cash” event held at two churches in Camden,

saying 'major gun restrictions' doesn't mean that 52% even know what that definition or 'gray law area' means....

it's like saying 'zero tolerance'....WTF does that mean?

Box your commentary on this issue is a big part of why nothing gets done on this issue. I've read most of the replies from some of the most "conservative" members on this board and they are willing to comprise. Yet you are name calling them and associating them with lunatics. A happy medium can be reached on this issue, but with people spewing stuff like yourself, you are flaring the paranoia of responsible gun owners and pushing them in the corner of the "fanatics" you claim to detest. Let's work together on getting guns out of criminals and crazy people's hands, and find a way to get rid of guns that can kill large numbers of people quickly. Guns for self defense and hunting can and should be protected. Anyways, there is my two cents.
Following School Shooting, 86% Want More Action to Identify and Treat Mental Illness
Wednesday, December 19, 2012
Americans want something done following the horrific news from Sandy Hook Elementary School last week, and a plurality believes a greater emphasis on mental health issues will be the most effective way to prevent such tragedies.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Americans believe more action to treat mental health issues will do the most to prevent incidents like last Friday’s school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty-seven percent (27%) think stricter gun control laws will do the most to prevent such shootings, while 15% put the emphasis on limits on violent movies and video games. Ten percent (10%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The national survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on December 17-18, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Run a search of my posts... I've posted many times... I support the 2nd amendment and I support Good gun laws.
Had the NRA been a faction of reason, they could have most of what they say publicly that they want in America. IMO, the NRA isn't at all interested in gun safety. They represent Gun Producers and Chemical companies... never Americans. The only thing the NRA really wants is more gun sales... regardless of the consequences.
