Good morning,

I still haven't heard a date for the debate.

I'm puzzled by literature I'm receiving about one of my opponents being part of a tax cut team.  I don't know how you can be part of a tax cut team if you aren't in a position to impose them in the first place.  I didn't raise anyone's taxes or cut them for that matter, because I wasn't in a position either elected or not, to decide whether they should go up or down.  It's a question I would like to have answered during the debate.

As a member of St. Gabriel's parish council, I would like to thank all who attended and participated in the event.  Due to campaigning I was only able to help stretch pizza dough on Saturday night.  I didn't notice hats on candidates that were attending, but I'm reading some objections to them being politically motivated.  I personally was wearing a well worn John Deere hat,.  Yes, I like green, but nothing runs like a Deere!  That's why we own a big and little one!  All I can say is I'm glad they were there showing support for St. Gabriel's and hopefully spending some money.  I'm a life long member of the parish and want to say that for a lot longer.

Please visit renewrotterdam.  It outlines my accomplishments and also gives a view of my personal values.  I think honesty and integrity are core values any candidate should have.

Please say hello if you are attending the pancake breakfast in Delanson on Sunday!  Duanesburg is great place to eat!!

Delanson is voting 100% for only Brad Littlefield. Ditto Duanesburg. Ditto Princetown.

What's the latest on the County Legislature Debate? Has it been scheduled yet?  Brad Littlefield should debate 4 empty chairs. lol.

Good morning,

I received notification of the debate to be conducted by the League of Women Voters of Schenectady County.  It is scheduled for October 20 at the Rotterdam Branch Library at 6:15.

Benny, I sure hope your prediction is wrong about the voters in Duanesburg and Princetown.  I would hope that they vote for both seats that are open. I also thought Mike Viscusi received about 180 votes on the Conservative line in the primary and I don't think they were all in Rotterdam.  Check the election results posted for the exact breakout of votes.

I hope to meet you at the debate.

Schenectady County Dems keep on spending

As America goes deeper into debt because of a wild spending spree, we are seeing the same kind of thing happen right here with Schenectady County government.
No one has all the solutions and I will not pretend that I do, but as a working taxpayer who chooses to live modestly and make sure my bills get paid I find the way our county government does things is upsetting. Spending the kind of cash they spent on the budget is going too far.
A $295 million budget is 15 times as large as the entire town of Rotterdam’s expenditure in one year. Just because federal stimulus money came in doesn’t mean we should increase spending on raises for high-level employees, PR directors, legislative staff, and party planners.
Granted, a 2 percent cut was all right, but when you consider the Republican minority proposed a 9 percent cut through spending reductions, then you wonder “what if we really worked together” and took the politics out of the equation.
Belt-tightening is going on everywhere, and Schenectady County should not be the one place that tightens the belt half a notch while all of us tighten three.

MICHAEL VISCUSI

Is this Mike Viscusi's last ditch effort for votes?  Is this the best he could come up with?  The biggest bill Rotterdam has is underwriting Gerard Parisi for his less than insightful views and caustic remarks not to mention Atilla the Hun in the Assessors office.  Get a talk show on Fox Gerard. I am sorry to say both Barrie and Viscusi are unimpressive in this fight.  Attack dogs at best.  Even Dolly Mascara aka Holly Vellano is a better choice and that's one Dem, Con, Rep I would never vote for.  Bullet vote for Littlefield.

I'm not voting or viscusi...but cal....ALL of the candidates will display that 'last ditch effort' for votes. That's what they do in politics. You didn't know that? Or are you just playing dumb so you can continue and be a part of the mudslinging?

No BT have your morning coffee.  The second sentence says "is this the best he could come up with" relating to the first sentence about the last ditch effort.  Translation for early risers sans coffee--you need more ammo than that generic BS if you're looking for votes.  And you know, or at least you purport to know that Littlefield is the best one in that race.  So who's the dummy now.  You say your for Littlefield but your statement betrays that effort.

'IS THAT THE BEST HE COULD COME UP WITH??????' Again, I'm not voting for him...but what he said speaks volumes. The dems on the county leg are nothing more than tax and spend, big government with no regard for the taxpayers, thieves. Those of whom I assume you support.

How you can say that you will vote for littlefield and yet back the other dems, speaks volumes in itself. You, like HV, clearly have an ideology identity crisis goin on here.

You are another K.R (think conservative for a moment).....only you are in the dems camp!

Two weeks before the election? Wonder who wrote this for him?

And it's far worse than he stated. Belt tightening? The horrid County DEMS-increased spending in a recession. They wasted stimulus money to pretrend all is well. Meanwhile, umemployment in this County is the worst in the area.

Sorry BT I don't get your veiled comment but you are soooooooooo very wrong.  Littlefield is running in the county I thinkk the Town needs to revert back to Democratic control.  You wish I had an identity crisis.  I am an Albany County Democrat who landed in Rotterdam and nor for much longer I am pleased to say.  Your NNTP line hasn't had time to gain favor and I think we need to be sure that ST is OUT and DONE.  There are some very nice folks on that line.  In the race for Leg. I like Littlefield and hope others will join me in that selection.  And BTW, I happen to like Lazzari as well.  Conservative????  You need to get back on your meds.  But I will vote for who I think is best for the job.  Isn't this America?  Land of free choice?  Thought you Reps were all wrapped up in the flag and could support that notion.  You spend too much time on FOX news.  Try Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman.

Cal....you're the type of lib who looks at obesity as a government issue. Ya know, that the government should dictate to these food chains on exactly what kind of food to serve.

Conservatives call it 'individual choice'.

Thank God I'm wrapped up in the American Flag and not just in myself and in a political party!

BT-in fact I DO NOT think obesity is a government problem.  Just goes to show how much you know about me.  It is LIBERALS who call it individual choice...choice as in RoeV Wade.  Choice as in Terry Schaivo--Liberals always go for choice.  It's Cons who are busy cramming their narrow minded views down everyone else's throat.  As in Bush War etc.

Benny is right.  Stop picking a fight over this.  What the heck does it matter if I am for Littlefield and Lazarri.  Just shows you Choice one more time and NOT party line which is exactly what you are espousing in vote Row F all the way.  Nope it's FDG and Littlefield for me.

Is this the Viscusi who will house all the elderly with an elder tax deduction for adding housing to his/her home?

maybe he will become the county nursing home himself......????
