"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

You are correct MT. I believe it was written and emailed to her. That's just my opinion.

You'd think she'd have the smarts to remove the >>>>? What a blowout for Holly V.

No wonder the REPS pulled up the white flag and have attacked FDG. Which is totally backfiring and only helping McGarry. What a disaster Countywide. Did you hear about Mike Mansion?lol.

I don't think this will be a blow out for H.V. at all. In my opinion, she shows very weak. Perhaps she would fair better on the town level. That is just my opinion of course.

Ok, guilty.  I emailed myself then reviewed it quickly, cut and pasting to the blog.  It is possible to have more than one email account.   I also did email my response to a friend first for an opinion.  Anything I put out on the blog is subject to being misconstrued and attacked and has been numerous times.  So in this instance the focus of the response is that I didn't retype it??  How about the content??  I'm an English major/Journalism minor so I don't need help writing, but I do tend to reread my own stuff many times over before submitting my words anywhere to make sure it's clear, concise and accurate. Frequently, I will type it in Word to catch my spelling errors.  Good heavens for that!

Also, who was behind me when I was at the debate?  I didn't have a script like the other candidates, but a mere few bullet notes on a single sheet of paper. I answered the questions spontaneously.   Hopefully, voters will focus on issues because that is what I am focused on. I visit voter's doors alone so I can have a conversation with them if they want to without another candidate chiming in.

I'm still waiting to find my handlers because to date I've been pretty much solo except for personal non-political friends.

I frequently check my facts and bounce ideas off other people.  For instance, I recently started wondering about using closed landfills for solar photovoltaic systems with net metering  (that's solar panels).  These properties are municipally-owned and cost the taxpayer $$ in monitoring and cap maintenance.  What if we made these areas fields of solar panels and generated power on them?  That would generate revenue. It's an allowable use of the property, very little impact to wildlife if any, and visual impacts can be dealt with.  No noise issues like wind turbines. The landfills are large tracts of land that could be productive as power generation areas.  Just a thought and yes I bounced that idea off some techno folks. Not enough methane to collect to make it worthwhile. This idea would have to be dealt with on a large scale to entice an energy company into the area.

This was cut from a press release from the Governor which gave me the above idea:

Earlier this month, Governor Paterson announced the availability of $10 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding through a competitive Statewide solicitation for solar energy projects. The funding is available through New York State Energy Research Development Authority's (NYSERDA) State Energy Program and will support the installation of solar photovoltaic systems.

I don't know about you folks, but I want a legislator that researches, asks questions and listens to residents for their input and seeks the advice from the many fields of experts for guidance. I don't have all the answers as I believe has been stated here by other candidates.

Blogs can be a think tank, not just a forum for crankiness.

Take a look at this one and you'll see what I mean.  You will have to type it in because I cut and pasted it from the NYT and it doesn't seem to be a link you can click on.  Maybe the adminstrator can fix that.

http://roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/25/rethinking-laundry-in-the-21st-century/

Wouldn't it be great if this forum could generate positive ideas?

These were multiple emails and I took all the >>'s out. K?

Mary, I applaud your passion for environmental issues.....that is where you should stay.....as a politician a person looses their
goal and it becomes a changers table at the temple.....

This morning's update on polls ~ remember polls don't vote ~ but very interesting ~

Candidate chosen first ~ of those who answered ~

Vellano     at 25%
Dagostino at 24%
Littlefield  at 21%
Viscusi     at 18%
Barrie      at 12%

Sample included other towns in the leg district ~ poll suspect because one candidate polled above all the candidates combined outside Rotterdam.
