what the f*** are you talking about? I make an observation based on FACT that knives kill 5 times more people in a year than assault weapons, and you come up with that? You must have liked anything shiny and blinking as a kid as that gets your attention... as you ignore the drip, drip, drip of handguns, knives and anything else that actually kills MORE in a year...

I've posted numerous times promoting a NY PISTOL PERMIT type law for the entire nation. A FEDERAL LAW that would eliminate much of the problem with pistol traffic into NY State.
There... does that make you happy? Can you hold two distinct laws in mind with out a meltdown???

Gun Legislation in this country goes up against the most powerful Lobby in the country... The NRA. They spend millions each year buying congress and promoting pro gun propaganda. The Orlando shooting will help much of America ignore that propaganda, and allow good legislation to pass.
Note: The NRA is not a sportsman's group, or a hunters group or a target shooter group or a gun collector group. The NRA is a political Lobby for the Gun Manufacturer and Chemical Industry. And that LOBBY is very good at what they do. Every time the NRA post a headline "OBAMER'Z GONNA TAKE AWAY UR GUNZ", gun sales soar. This is the group who promoted "COP KILLER" (Teflon) ammo. JENSEN BEACH, Fla.— Omar Mateen visited a gun shop in this town near his home about five or six weeks ago. His request: heavy-duty body armor—rated IIIA, the sort typically used by law enforcement—and bulk ammunition.
While at the store, Mateen had a phone conversation in which he appeared to be speaking in a Middle Eastern language, according to Robbie Abell, the co-owner of the store, Lotus Gunworks of South Florida. Staffers also noticed him texting on his phone.
Mateen “just seemed very odd,” Mr. Abell said. “The questions he was asking [about body armor] were not the normal questions a normal person would be asking.”
Lotus Gunworks doesn’t carry armor. Employees declined to sell Mateen bulk ammunition, turning him away. “If something is suspicious, it’s our discretion,” Mr. Abell said. “We are the gatekeeper.”
The FBI is in the process of reconstructing all of Mateen’s movements ahead of the shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub that left 49 dead and 53 injured early Sunday. The FBI is also looking into other parts of the gunman’s life, including his time at a corrections-officer academy. Christopher Hansen was getting a drink at the bar when he realized what was going on. He said, 'I didn’t see any of the actual shooters. I just saw bodies going down. I fell down. I crawled out,' CNN reported.
'People were trying to escape out the back. I just know that when I hit the ground, I was crawling and I hit my elbows and my knees,” he said.
'When I got across the street, there were people — blood everywhere.'
He helped one victim who had been shot and told CNN: 'I took my bandana off and shoved it in the hole in his back.'
