Tax Thief Bundy claims "states rights" to the land.  Here is what the Nevada State Constitution says about it:

"When Nevada became a state in 1864, its citizens gave up all claims to
unappropriated federal land and codified this in the state’s Constitution.
The Nevada Constitution ( and the ACT OF CONGRESS (1864) ENABLING THE
PEOPLE OF NEVADA TO FORM A CONSTITUTION AND STATE GOVERNMENT) state:

“ That the people inhabiting said territory do agree and declare,
that they forever disclaim all right and title to the unappropriated
public lands lying within said territory, and that the same shall be
and remain at the sole and entire disposition of the United States”

I have no idea about the tortoise.  IMO,That has little to do with this case.

Funny that Henry posts the Right Wing Bull $hit as if it were fact...
Um... Henry... The Bundy's started ranching in 1954.  Not since the 1800's!

CNN

Quoted Text
Bundy refused to abide by the changes and stopped paying his grazing fees to the federal bureau, which he contends is infringing on state rights. His family has been ranching since the 1800s, before the U.S. Department of Interior was created and endangered species became a federal issue

Daily Caller

Quoted Text
The land Bundy’s family had used for cattle grazing since the late 1800s suddenly became off-limits. Bundy refused to give up his grazing rights and wound up in a prolonged court battle. The court ruled against Bundy in 1998 and ordered him to remove his cattle, or else the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) would do it for him.

Breitbart

Quoted Text
The Bundy family can in fact claim to have enjoyed generations of grazing rights on federal land—with an arrangement originating in the 1870s. Adjacent to their personal property, the family was allowed to utilize what was known as the Bunkerville Allotment (outlined in red).

CNN... A somewhat reliable source
Daily Caller... A Right Wing Shill
Breitbart... Bat$hit Crazy!

CNN is reporting Bundy's story, which is their job...
The other two are a waste of time unless you seek Right Winger Propaganda.

Quoted Text
For two decades, those officials have tried and failed to keep Bundy from illegally
grazing his cattle on federal land. They’ve obtained three court orders — one of them as
long ago as 1998 — requiring Bundy to remove his cattle from federal land.
The more recent orders, both from 2013, gave Bundy 45 days to comply or else “the
United States is entitled to seize and remove to impound any of Bundy’s cattle that
remain in trespass.” Bundy did not comply, and government-hired wranglers began
rounding up Bundy’s livestock last Saturday.

Quoted Text
LAS VEGAS -- It has been widely reported that Cliven Bundy’s family claims to have
ranched in the Bunkerville area since the 1870s even though a federal judge held a
different view of Bundy’s history.
Bundy repeated a similar claim Thursday when he told TheBlaze website: “My family
has preemptive, adjudicated livestock water rights filed with the state of Nevada.
They were established in 1877 when the first pioneers entered the valley.

Contrast that with the 1998 opinion from U.S. District Judge Johnnie Rawlinson in a
case where it was determined Bundy wouldn’t be allowed to use federal land for his
cattle because of failure to pay grazing fees to the Bureau of Land Management.
Rawlinson wrote that it wasn’t until roughly 1954 that “Bundy or his father or both
have grazed livestock on public lands owned by the United States and administered by
the BLM.”
Separate records from the website FamilySearch, which is sponsored by The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, indicate that Christena Jensen was born in Nevada in
1901 and that Bodel Jensen was born in Nevada in 1924. Christena Jensen’s parents
originally were from Utah. This is the side of the family where Cliven Bundy claims long-
standing livestock water rights.
County records show the earliest construction on Bundy’s ranch was in 1951.

KLAS TV, Las Vegas.

Yes, of course.  Raise the straw man.  The race card is so valuable. What's it have to do with snipers, helicopters and paramilitary raiding his ranch and stealing his property?

Snipers???
Helicopters???
Paramilitary raiders???
Those are your concerns, not mine.

I'm just concerned with Scumbag Bundy paying his bill and getting off government welfare.

Oh, I thought you were concerned about gun violence and "assault rifles" in America.  My bad.   I see the proper use of these assault rifles are for the federal government to police what you consider "welfare fraud".

If box was president, Schenectady would be a war zone with military style raids policing welfare fraud.

Go get those "scumbags" as you call them.

Cicero is coming unglued... he really seems to have gone over the edge on this issue.
Take a break Cicero... shut down your computer and have some nice warm milk and some
cookies and take a nap.  You seem to need it!

Yeah, "over the edge".  This coming from the guy cheering paramilitary style raids against American citizens, to collect an over due fee for use of "public lands".  Assault weapons in America are good, only when used to collect government debts.  History will write fondly of you box.

Nap time...Zzzz...

What Cissy and Henry really want is another CAUSE... you know, they want a bloodbath.  Another
Waco, another Ruby Ridge... they need something to stoke their Anti Govt agenda.  They bet the
"ranch" on this Bundy guy getting his head blown off... and disappointment of all disappointments...
No one was shot... no one was blown up... no one was burned alive... it's been a real no win for
the anti govt crusaders.

With any luck, some one will get shot or run over or something... and the anti govt CRAZIES will
get their wish!

Wish???  It's a prediction.  It will just be one of many examples of how an authoritarian government responds with overwhelming violence, for something like collection of debt.

I truly hope there is no violence.  But with people like you calling somebody that owes a debt a scumbag and Harry Ried calling him a domestic terrorist, it's evident the government will respond the only way they know how - a bloodbath.

"I truly hope there is no violence."
I think just about everyone on this board knows that isn't true.
With out the violence, you are just a group of selfish 'me first' babies... whining about "BIG GOVT"!
For your agenda to proceed, violence is a must.  You NEED a martyr.  You NEED another Ruby Ridge,
you NEED more wackos of Waco.  You NEED a CHRIST to sacrifice to your cause.  You NEED some
fresh blood on the ground to "water your tree of liberty".
All your "righteous indignation" NEEDS spilled blood to validate your view... Just ask Domestic
Terrorist, Timothy McVeigh.

That's your point of view.  Remember, ruby ridge, Waco, and now Bundy, the government initiated the violence, not the other way around.  Timothy McVeigh(your fellow military brother) responded to Waco like he was taught in the Military, with indiscriminate violence.  The Govt needs to make an example out of otherwise peaceful people.  And in the case of Bundy, violence was initiated for MONEY.

LOL! McVeigh was no 'brother' of mine.  He was in the military, but his views were the opposite of military
values.  McVeigh's views were much closer to yours or Henry's.  Anti Govt.  Pro Violence.
Who instigated the violence???  In a bank robbery when the police arrive to find a bank robber...
Who "instigated" the violence?  The thief of course.  Who is stealing taxpayer dollars?  Bigot Bundy.
