It has come to my attention that some people will not be attending the Rotterdam Republican Town Committee's 7th Annual Reagan Day Dinner because of destructive behavior of one or maybe two.
You need to tell those people to stop being so thin skinned. This is Schenectady County politics. This blog was considered to be a GOP friendly site by many members on this board and around town you YEARS. In the past, Republicans benefited from the positive support by those same anonymous posters. I would say it was a key part in helping organize the Keep Wal-mart Out campaign which ultimately resulted in a Republican super majority.
You know what they say - You live by the sword, you die by the sword. To now come on here and cry about the negative conversations shows how petty and thin skinned the Republicans are.
They call me Mr. Tibbs! I feel for you there Tracy Donovan when you have to blame the behavior on this stupid, good for nothing, play ground of absurdity for the low turnout to your fundraiser. Do the Dems have the same problem? Dunno but as a disgruntled former Republican I don't see the merits in using our own names. The Gerard Paris/Tom Buchanan/Steve Tommasone vindictiveness is well documented. Isn't that why you struggle to break even?
Peeps Raspy.........the dems know they are in BIG trouble this year in the ENTIRE county!!!! Folks are realizing that it is their high taxes in the city that fall at the feet of the dems/con/metorplex. Increased crime also falls at the feet of the dem/con/metropplex. Vacant homes fall at the feet of the dem/con metroplex. A 2nd Hamilton Hill aka Mt. Pleasant also falls at the feet of the dem/con/metroplex Relocating private businesses at the taxpayers expense fall at the feet of the dem/con/metroplex.
Rotterdamians just have to attend one town board meeting and the dems are DONE!!! Between the voting hoax for REMS, to the dem chair, TJ Hooker, who supported and gave endless speeches on a tax increase for rotterdamains, to voting a zoning change on tax delinquent property, to lambasting a private citizen at a town board meeting, to wanting to ban cell phones, to the endless number of useless law suits at the taxpayers expense, to an illegal race track, to a senior center fiasco, to a board member, WC, who wants to pick and choose what is important and what isn't for discussion..............
I'd say that a low showing for a rep dinner is not going to hurt them at all!! It won't determine the outcome of an election. The electorate don't give a crap about a political parties turn out when it comes time to vote!!
Hell, the dems seem to have good turnouts at their 'gatherings' and look at how bad they look now. Put a fork in em...the dems/cons are done!!!

As you all know, this cannot be done without generous supporters. I would ask that people on these blogs who do not have the courtesy to use their OWN name come forward. I, nor the full committee can control who gets on those blogs or what they say. I'm sorry for any discomfort and I empathize with constant negativity. It is not often, that a county or town has the opportunity to have the majority leader to come to one of our dinners. I am graciously surprised and joyful, however; if there is not a good turn out; I doubt we could ever get him to come back again!
Please review all that I have said. We are only a few days away from this event. I have not been on this blog for a while, yet; I felt the need to openly address the issue that came to my attention yesterday.

Speaking as a Democrat, I am almost tempted to attend your dinner - because Dolce Vita is a great restaurant (you can usually find me there on Thursday nights) -- and you should be applauded for getting the Senate Majority Leader there ... I am still working on getting Sandra Lee to attend our Democratic dinner next January.

ROTTERDAM Democrats back Buffardi over incumbent supervisor BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Rotterdam Democrats have endorsed a new slate of candidates for town office, shunning incumbent Supervisor Frank Del Gallo and choosing someone different for board member Nicola DiLeva’s seat. Members of the Town Committee resoundingly endorsed former Schenectady County Sheriff Harry Buffardi for supervisor. They also picked incumbent Wayne Calder and Mike Viscusi as their picks for a pair of Town Board seats, after DiLeva told the party she wasn’t interested in seeking their endorsement. “Their philosophy is about serving the party,” said DiLeva, who is registered as a Conservative. “I’m not here for the party, I’m here for the residents and the people.” Buffardi received votes from 27 committee members, while Del Gallo garnered 11. Contacted after this week’s endorsement meeting, Del Gallo said the results were expected and he remains undeterred from his re-election bid. “I’ll primary everybody,” he said defi antly. Del Gallo said he also plans to drop his enrollment with the Democrats to rejoin the Conservatives. He said he wasn’t interested in “playing the game” the Democrats wanted him to engage in. “If you want to get anywhere in politics, you’ve got to play the game they play,” he said. Rotterdam Democrats also endorsed former Schenectady County Department of Public Works supervisor Vincent Romano for highway superintendent and incumbent Kevin Mercoglan for town justice. Tony Jasenski and Angelo Santabarbara, both incumbents, were nominated for county Legislature, while Mark Powers was selected to run for county Family Court judge. Del Gallo and DiLeva were both endorsed by the Democrats on the Revitalize Rotterdam ticket in 2009. After winning election, Del Gallo fulfilled a campaign promise to switch from his independent enrollment to Conservative. Less than a year after they took office, the discourse between Del Gallo and DiLeva began to sour. Del Gallo has verbally sparred with her during board meetings on several occasions, while DiLeva has accused his administration of being secretive and unresponsive to the needs of residents. The meltdown between the two board members reached a peak in November, when DiLeva introduced a series of 11th-hour amendments to Del Gallo’s proposed budget that reduced the tax increase by nearly 4 percent. DiLeva also introduced a last-minute resolution to name a private law fi rm as the new town attorney without fi rst consulting Del Gallo or Deputy Supervisor Robert Godlewski. Del Gallo changed his enrollment again to Democrat late last year. The change, however, doesn’t go into effect until after November’s election. Jasenski, the committee’s chairman, said Del Gallo’s inability to reach consensus with his fellow board members is one of the main reasons some members refused to endorse him. He said people within the community voiced disappointment over the board’s inability to tackle serious issues facing the town under Del Gallo’s administration. “They can’t seem to get past the minor issues to see what’s coming down the pike,” he said. Jasenski doesn’t think shunning Del Gallo will cause a fi ssure within the party. Rather, he said the committee decided it was in the better interest of the party as a whole to dump the incumbent from the ticket. “It was a political decision based on what they thought was best for governing Rotterdam,” he said. “Do I think it’s going to splinter the party? I don’t.” In addition to a possible primary bid for the Democratic endorsement, Del Gallo said he’ll move forward with establishing his own independent party line. Dem-o-cons also sold FDG to the rotterdamians as an 'independent businessman'. It appears that FDG was too independent for them. FDG may be controversial, but he has exposed the dem party for what they are.

Schenectady County Legislator Anthony Jasenski, D-Rotterdam, denies sending out an e-mail that said there would be “political repercussions” in the town of Rotterdam if the Town Board ultimately decided to choose Mohawk Ambulance Service over Rotterdam Emergency Medical Services, or REMS.
“While I do send out and receive a lot of e-mails, I glanced through my files and was unable to locate any record of this specific e-mail being sent by me,” said Jasenski. “I am seriously quite alarmed by the possibility of someone sending out e-mails and attributing them to me, and I am very interested in finding out from Mr. Nardacci the exact circumstances of how he came to be in possession of an e-mail, allegedly sent from me and to me, and will be contacting him directly for whatever information he can provide about its source before deciding how to further proceed.”
