the Roman Catholic Church was booted out of England to be replaced by the Church of England......so if anyone wants to go there they can too....
the fact remains that as a political machine the Roman Catholic Church stands......and it CANNOT keep itself 'from the world'.....it can try mind control
of it's sheep with the current results that we see.......

but if one IS a sheep of this entity then follow it and your effect on the 'worldly' things will be the ripples you make in your life while moving amongst the
lost of the world.....kind of like neutrons/positrons/electons........when governments want to usurp power they ALWAYS run to the religions-hence
a cultural atomic bomb......

if we dont keep them separate we become the casualty of the bomb we built.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

The Roman Catholic Church is still in England -- actually growing and flourishing.  The only reason for the
creation of the Church of England is that Henry VIII used the controversy over his divorce from his first wife
to make a political and economic power grab.   By establishing the Church of England as the official church
of England, he was able to seize Catholic Church properties for his own and to put himself at the top of the
church hierarchy so as to control that institution.

Quoted Text
During its 2007-8 fiscal year, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, Inc., received $17,973,859 in government grants $3,875,773 in direct public support (i.e., contributions, gifts, and grants), and $474,538 in indirect public support, according to its tax return. It also received $16,358,929 in program service revenue, including government contracts. Other revenue sources such as special events and investment income brought total revenue to $40,093,321.

Quoted Text
Bishop Howard Hubbard of Albany, who serves as chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace, has approved a proposal by diocesan Catholic Charities to distribute free needles to drug abusers in the hope of preventing the spread of AIDS.

http://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=5290
Quoted Text
“This is a proven method used around the country, but there has been a huge gap in this area that nobody was stepping up to fill,” said Angela Keller, executive director of AIDS services for Catholic Charities, whose web site links to the Capital District Gay and Lesbian Community Council. The council's mission is [b]“to promote the well being of all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer identified people and those affected by discrimination based on gender identity and expression.”

http://the-american-catholic.com/2010/02/05/is-bishop-howard-hubbard-cooperating-in-evil/
Quoted Text
I think that one who supplies, without a physician’s prescription, needles/syringes (nb: devices with only one practical use) to people whom one reasonably believes will use those devices to inject illegal drugs into their own bodies and/or the bodies of others, encourages those people to practices that are gravely contrary to the moral law, rendering thereby, it seems to me, direct assistance to their commission of an objectively gravely evil act while intending precisely to help them accomplish that act. This conclusion is not contingent on whether the needles are clean, or are merely exchanged, or on any other accidental aspect of the program.* The only question is whether giving a syringe to a drug abuser abets his or her injection of illegal drugs. If it does, then giving a drug user a needle formally cooperates with the specific evil of his or her taking those illegal drugs.

What the previous post has to do with the Pope naming 24 new Cardinals -- including 2 Americans -- is a
mystery.    Sad to say but those who hate the Catholic Church will use any forum to take a swipe at it.

At one time Catholic Charities was known for being one of the most efficient groups.  Your donation went 100% to the recipient with NO administration fees deducted.  Many popular charities of the time would deduct 25% and some up to 70%, so very little went to those in need.
However, I'm not sure if that information still applies.

It still applies -- i know that when the special diocesan collection was held to aid Katrina victims -- 100% of the funds collected went through Catholic Charities to the appropriate agencies in Louisiana ... the diocese covers the administration fees of Catholic Charities through a separate fund -- the Annual Bishop's Appeal.

Similarly,  Catholic Relief Services - which deals with international outreach - has something like a 96% rate
that means only 4% collected is used for administration.    Catholic Relief Services was the agency that
the late Bishop Broderick of Albany headed up after he stepped down as Bishop of Albany.

Are you people that dumbed down???

MY POINT IS.....that if you 'christians' want to preserve your right to worship.....ya all better 'smarten up' and smell the coffee!!! I already gave a list of 'christain rights/symbols' that have already been banned from YOUR country over the last few decades!!! With more on the horizon.

I'm on your side you nitwits!!! Only I will fight and speak up as to not have my 'church/religion' turn itself over to government rule. Which they all are, by the way.

And if ya all don't smarten up......you WILL be saying.............HEIL HITLER!!!  ..... k?

You are a nightmare BT.  Find me the priest who would accept "Heil Hitler" today.  As for Catholic Charities...they still do more for the world than any other non-profit.  As for donations..those in religious life do not fill all the jobs in catholic charities.  When nuns are there a small stipend is paid to the order.  Those of us in the larger world, need to be paid for their work and expertise because we have families to feed.  You still cannot beat Catholic Charities anywhere in this world.

I agree with MT and DVR anyone who hates the Catholic Church will use any forum to bash it.  BT you are in this one deep.  And Cicero you are a bigger fool than BT by your support of his outrageous language.

how did you liberal socialist progressives stop government from recognizing gay marriage? (anti-christian)
how did that 'happy HOLIDAYS' thing work out for you liberal socialists?
........how's that working for ya all? Good job!!

how do you liberal socialist progressives plan to stop the government from taking 'in God we trust' off american money?
how do you liberal socialist progressives plan to stop the government from taking 'One nation under God' out of the pledge?

Boom claims to be a liberal and preaches things like tolerance and free speech, as you can see, it's more like compliance and acceptable speech.

Boom, are you lacing up the jackboots?

YOu two have been pushing thehate speech.  Sorry--that just is unacceptable.  Calling someone a Communist or even a Nazi is not the same as saying Heil Hitler.  Why lace up jackboots--the pen is mightier than the sword.
