Cicero you are wrong--just plain WRONG!  Read the last post by BT and he ends it with his signature "heil Hitler."  No hyperbole.  JUST OFFENSIVE.  This is NOT free speech.  One mnore Heil Hitler from BT and I will invite  the Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY to be part of this board--watch how fast BT will be saluting the FBI.  Grow up BT--this arrogant behavior is just one reason why a particular Town official was willing to knock your block off all the way to Schoharie.
This could also be why your political buddies have all deserted you.

Cissy - be smart on this one.  Don't take this fight on--especially on behalf of someone who is revealing himself to be a bigot, a racist and an anti-Semite.  That's hate speech.  End of story.

And who were the victims suppose to go to with this alarming information? These priests should have been arrested and went to trial, put in jail or had to register as a sex offender.....just like every other sex offender.
But nooooooooo.....their only recourse was to go back to the same institution that knew and yet turned a blind eye to the situation.
What was this the trade off for 'government money' and for the catholic church to continue being the arm of the welfare system? Don't make much sense does it???

The only information that I have -- and this is from family members who work in law enforcement and the
court system -- is that in the PAST .. when incidents of abuse were reported to the authorities BOTH church
and criminal .. in many cases the parents did NOT want to press charges and go public -- THEY preferred a
quiet "settlement" or "arrangement" out side of the public arena.

Was this the right thing to do? I think most people -- in hindsight -- would say it was NOT the right thing to
do BUT that is what happened.

As for the allegation that the government didn't press charges in order so the government could GIVE
money to the Catholic Church --- just stop and think how ludicrous that sounds .. why would the government
give "preferential" treatment and then, also, give money to the same organization for giving it such
treatment ?       You would also have to provide some evidence for your allegation that the Church received
money from the government.   Because I am unaware of any government money going to the Catholic
Church.

CATHOLIC Charities???

Catholic Charities didn't come into existence until the 1970's --- it receives grants just like other not-for-profit
social service organizations.    If you are alleging that such grants were "pay off money" -- you really better be
able to prove that  -- because I would have no problem turning your comments over to the diocesan lawyers
so that they could sue you for libel.

I won't stand by and watch you play the "bigot" card and act as the speech police.  The same crap was pulled on Juan Williams at NPR.

This PC hypersensitivity garbage has to stop.  Enough with labeling people; "bigots" "racists" "anti-Semites" "islamaphobes" "homophobes" as if you are really offended and are going to lose sleep.  In comparison, these labels are just as offensive if not more than "Heil Hitler" in the context in which BT used it.

This PC bullsh!t has divided America more than brought it together.  People fear having a casual conversation with anybody that is considered to be part of the "protected class" in fear of somebody may take their words out of context in an attempt to harm their reputation by labeling them a bigot or other slanderous words.  This is especially true in the workplace.  If somebody even over hears a conversation that they consider offensive, even if they didn't hear the whole conversation, they are filing grievance and ruining that person’s reputation among co-workers.

Quickly labeling people "bigots" or "racist" is a very divisive practice.  Even more so that BT's satiristic use of heil hitler.

If you are going to make outrageous allegations -- even by implying impropriety -- you really better have
some evidence to back your statements up.

The Church nor the socialist welfare arm of the church sue anyone for slander or libel. You are so ill-informed, Ron.

I am more offended by real-life national socialists who run these various pro-tyranny groups. At this stage mind control has not been declared the law of the land.

And you say you ran for elected office?  Only in Rotterdam.

That is what the SLAPP statute is all about. Tonight Ron is all about silencing everything. A little bit frantic, but illustrative of what democraps do when they get power. They use the iron fist and the hobnail jackboot to CRUSH free speech and dissent that they don't like. They are fast to drawer on the hired legal guns to destroy and crush their opponents. Very NAZI-LIKE.

Actually .. in the Diocese of Albany  .. Catholic Charities was established in 1917 .. so I guess we BOTH
were wrong about how old it is.

Still YOUR suggesting that any government grants that it got was somehow  "pay off money" is
ludicrous.
