LeBroun couldn't win in Schenectady either. All City KRATS run unopposed and REPS don't even met, can't field one candidate and nobody says nuthin. Who's the REP City chairman?

Joe ~ i mean GB if "that's what you want us to call you" ~ nice long post, I enjoyed the entertainment.  But, you know me, I don't get all warm and fuzzy when the BS starts flying.

Let's talk turkey ~ you are in the minority and it's easy.  You're not saying "No" to any of your so called friends and if you did there would most likely be some kind of back room deal that took care of them anyways.  You run around with the most embarrassing county chair to come along in a long time and your town chair is reminds us all of the days of Constantino (not really a reference to young girls, but rather the cash in the pocket issues)  While we're on the subject, what do you propose to do with a bloated town attorney office that is occupied by the chairman of your town party ~ answer: NOTHING!  Nothing Joe, because you are one of them.  Nothing Joe because you don't have what it takes to put an end to the apparent corruption.  Nothing Joe because you know who butters your bread.  I have really heard enough about how you would stand up for what's right, but everything you do shows us you won't.  Stop telling us about your oppositions on the county level because they don't translate over to our needs in the town.

Joe, are you going to tell the Chief of Police and his administration that they can't have new cars every year?  NO!  You won't because if you cross the police you will end up like Mertz.  You recommended a different firearm for the PD, that got you nowhere.  Things won't be any different.

Are you going to look at the fact that under Paolino the attorney’s office cost the taxpayers half the current cost and you could actually find the town attorney in town hall?  No, you won't.

Let's face it Joe, you are running for the town because you couldn't beat Judy or Holly.  Understandable, but taking out one of your own Republicans isn't ~ it's disrespectful and shows that you lack the backbone to do what's right and stand up for your party ideology.  Cervera might have had it right, Mertz was uncompromising, but as far as I'm concerned it was the way he should have been.  

Republicans and Democrats want Yes-Men, not people who think for themselves and have integrity.  Let's see how the Republicans handle O'Connor - they can't dictate what he's going to do.  

That's why I can't stand politicians, at least O'Connor and Mertz would tell me the way it is ~ are you for or against a new Walmart Supercenter?  are you for or against a new tax district?  are you for or against bloated union budgets? are you for or against the small businesses getting assistance from Metroplex?

Now I'm tired.  Our system is messed up ~ sadly, I don't see it changing too much in the future.

Sorry you feel tired, but we all get that way once in a while, Felipe. We all want positive changes and they are never easy to accomplish. You would have to go back in time to see Joe when there was a dispute among the GOP on the county and he did say no, and he ended up agreeing and disagreeing at various times with the leadership even when he was in the majority. He voted against the GOP's budget and other spending/taxing plans then too. He got some of them mad at him for life. he wasn't as vocal because he was new on the job but if you want to see the 14-1 votes and the times he joined 2 or 3 other legislators, it is in the record. I know he is isn't afraid to be his own man in the future and disagree with his party or the opposing party...It's all there in the record.

But I understand you are a skeptic. Everyone is entitled to his/her view in America, that is why it is great. We still (for the time being) allow dissent among divergent peoples and viewpoints. I don't believe it is right for a "boss" to tell anyone how to vote.

Town Attorney question/DUCK!

I can't speak for Joe but I am sure he wants to reduce in every area INCLUDING attorney fees.

We know about Fran, but you can't dispute his success!  McGarry's a small business guy too and gets it, but I think those guys just gave up and that's too bad.  Just curious, anyone see these guys anywhere?  I had a few emails back and forth with a couple of these guys, but haven't heard much from them at all.

The public hearing on REMS at last night’s Town Board meeting was an interesting exchange of ideas.    
Several of the candidates (including ALL the NNTP candidates) provided their views on the taxing district and many residents came out to express their concerns and ask burning questions.    I was surprised that FDG wasn’t there…does he attend any town meetings?  

He was there lastnight with some of his running mates.

I hear he's a man of few words...which is a problem when you're planning to run the town.

I've also heard that debate is one of his weaknesses, as opposed to Tommasone who could talk for hours.  That could be the reason?

Well, it appears that fdg is not a great speaker. Many folks have stated that. Shouldn't be a decision maker. I mean look at stratton. (no disrespect intended)
However, it does appear that fdg will need to be coached from the sidelines if elected. And his sidelines, I'm afraid to say, will be from his supporters aka landowners/developers.
Not good folks. Not when rotterdam has 2 major areas, one on the east end and one on the west end of town, that are prime for development.

True, but businessmen, like the cops, have friends and family. It depends on who will benefit having fdg in office. IMHO

    Del Gallo admits he’s not much of a politician, but considers himself a savvy enough businessman to run the town’s affairs. He said years of political bickering had left Rotterdam in bad shape tax-wise.

I keep going back to the above quote...and that reminds me that the NNTP is the only solution! They have the experience, the professionalism and commitment to the residents!

Wow ... "cant do any worse" ... ya, I'd vote for him, NOT.  I don't know about you, but I'm looking for someone that can take carge and get it RIGHT.

Time to look more carefully at the NNTP
