Been to Singapore and don't recall how dark it would have been at that hour, since I was
never there at that time of the year. But, just saying, as reply to your statement, that visibility may
have been impaired because of time of day...so EYES ON ANOTHER SHIP may have been impacted.

Of course, that doesn't offer a conspiracy factor, like Dumbler wishes for!

Those warships should have sensors like they have on bumpers on cars, that tone when you get close to an object. They work in dark and foggy conditions.  It would be a pretty cheap fix.

I'm sure they have more sophisticated perimeter barriers...but something went wrong here and until a
thorough investigation is concluded, we won't know...or maybe the Russians will tell us!

Maybe  it was Russian collusion?  Muller may find Poootin "hacked the election " and Navy navigation systems.  If we're gonna have a Russian conspiracy, may as well go all the way with it.

Legitimate news agencies reporting that initial discovery is steering failed, but may not be cause of accident.
Then you have "FOX" trying to push theory of possible cyber attack as cause...Bumble must be having a big O with that one!

"A top admiral has said that the US Navy will 'consider' whether two fatal collisions this summer could have been the result of a cyber attack.
Admiral John Richardson, the chief of naval operations, said on Monday that there were 'no indications right now' that the two ships were hacked, but added investigators 'will consider all possibilities'.
The shocking possibility emerged as the Navy ordered a broad investigation into the performance and readiness of the Pacific-based 7th Fleet."

Of course they will look at that possibility, along with probably 100 other possibilities...that's how a thorough investigation is conducted.
I luv this...."The shocking possibility emerged..."  Why shocking? Ridiculous embellishment by reporter!
