Are you suggesting the container ship running into a war ship in an ocean of hundreds of thousands if not millions if square miles is the equivalent to a child running into traffic?  Is the car that runs into the child equipped with the most advanced radar and sonar that can detect the child's movement from miles away?

Exclusive: U.S. warship stayed on deadly collision course despite warning - container ship captain

A U.S. warship struck by a container vessel in Japanese waters failed to respond to warning signals or take evasive action before a collision that killed seven of its crew, according to a report of the incident by the Philippine cargo ship's captain.

Multiple U.S. and Japanese investigations are under way into how the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the much larger ACX Crystal container ship collided in clear weather south of Tokyo Bay in the early hours of June 17.

In the first detailed account from one of those directly involved, the cargo ship's captain said the ACX Crystal had signaled with flashing lights after the Fitzgerald "suddenly" steamed on to a course to cross its path.

The container ship steered hard to starboard (right) to avoid the warship, but hit the Fitzgerald 10 minutes later at 1:30 a.m., according to a copy of Captain Ronald Advincula's report to Japanese ship owner Dainichi Investment Corporation that was seen by Reuters.

The U.S. Navy declined to comment and Reuters was not able to independently verify the account.

The collision tore a gash below the Fitzgerald's waterline, killing seven sailors in what was the greatest loss of life on a U.S. Navy vessel since the USS Cole was bombed in Yemen's Aden harbor in 2000.

Here's an interesting bit of info that adds confusion to their story and the whole scenario:
Quoted Text
Another focus of the probes has been the length of time it took the ACX Crystal to report the collision.

The JCG said it was first notified at 2:25am (local time) — nearly an hour after the accident.

In his report, the ACX Crystal's captain said there was "confusion" on his ship's bridge, and that it turned around and returned to the collision site after continuing for 11 kilometres.

Shipping data shows the ACX Crystal, chartered by Japan's Nippon Yusen KK, made a complete U-turn between 12:58am and 2:46am (local time).

The FITZ was struck at 1:30am?

The Destroyer s electronics were probably  completely disabled by an electromagnetic pulse beam and it wasn't  even moving.

SHOCK TACTICS Russian media claims country can wipe out entire US Navy with a single ‘electronic bomb’ in bizarre propaganda report

Russian news report claims electronic signal jamming weapon can render planes, ships and missiles useless

By Tom Michael

Updated: 7th June 2017

RUSSIAN media has claimed the country can disable the entire US Navy in one fell swoop using powerful electronic signal jamming.

A news report from the powerhouse – where the media is essentially controlled by the state – said the technology could render planes, ships and missiles useless.

Russian media claims country can disable US ships with cutting edge technology

A news report boasted a single Russian plane was able to disable a US warship

The newsreader says: “Today, our Russian Electronic Warfare (REW) troops can detect and neutralise any target from a ship’s system and a radar, to a satellite.”

The news report claims a single Russian war plane flew several times around American destroyer the USS Donald Cook in the Black Sea several years ago, disabling its systems and leaving it helpless.

The report also claims they are capable to creating electronic jamming domes over their bases that make them invisible on radar screens.

The propaganda piece even claims to quote top US General Frank Gorenc as saying: “Russian electronic weapons completely paralyse the functioning of American electronic equipment installed on missiles, aircraft and ships.”

A US military spokesman denied General Gorenc said the words quoted during the propaganda video and it has subsequently been claimed that the Russian media may have fallen for a some sort of prank story.

The news comes after US president Donald Trump dispatched the USS Carl Vinson, powered by nuclear reactors, carrying almost 100 aircraft and accompanied by destroyers, a cruiser and a submarine to the Korean Peninsula.

The propaganda piece also claimed the technology can disable missiles

It is claimed the technology can disable all kind of electronic equipment

And the commander-in-chief is said to be bolstering American deployment in the region by sending the USS Ronald Reagan and the USS Nimitz to the Sea of Japan next week.

Russia, along with China, is said to have sent a spy ship to the area to ward off the task force amid rising tensions in the region.

The ship movements followed comments by Russian president Vladimir Putin who urged the US to show “restraint”.

I appreciate the link.

What do you think about the article published back in April that dismissed Russias claim that they can disable US Navy war ships?  Then 2 months later a US war ship patrolling near the Korean Peninsula is involved in a bizarre accident with a cargo ship.  What a coincidence right?

Let's not forget this coincidence that happened with a navy warship around the Korean Peninsula on May 9th, 2017.

Within 2 months after Russia announced they could take out the US Navy with electronic warfare, two Navy war ship collide with commercial vessels, both near the Korean Peninsula. Hmmmm...

US Navy warship collides with South Korean fishing boat during a training exercise in the Sea of Japan

A U.S. navy ship has collided with a South Korean fishing boat during training exercises on Tuesday in the Sea of Japan.

The cruiser USS Lake Champlain was engaging in training Tuesday when it collided with the 9.8-ton fishing boat off South Korea's east coast, according to Yonhap News Agency.

'There was an accident involving the U.S. cruiser USS Lake Champlain and the South Korean fishing ship 502 Namyang in the waters south of Ulleung Island at around noon today,' a South Korean military official told Yonhap.

The cruiser USS Lake Champlain, seen back left last week, was engaging in training Tuesday when it collided with the 9.8-ton fishing boat off South Korea's east coast. It's shown here behind the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson

The unidentified official said the incident appears to be a minor collision and that no casualties have been reported involving the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser.

South Korea's Defense Ministry has confirmed the substance of the Yonhap report but gave no further details.

The cause of the collision wasn't immediately known and officials are said to be investigating.

'It is quite unusual for a military ship to collide with a fishing vessel,' an official from the Ministry of Public Safety Service told The Korean Herald.

'Once the fishing ship returns to port, we will conduct an investigation to find out exactly what happened.
