Politico reports that yesterday’s decision by South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) to ask for the
Confederate battle flag to be taken down from the state capitol “had been in the works since
last Friday.”

“After a weekend that proved to be a political disaster for the GOP — Republican presidential
candidates were knocked back on their heels, faced awkward questions about classifying it as a
“hate crime” and also about the contributions some had received from a white supremacist leader
whose work influenced the shooter — top party officials and several campaigns quickly fell in
line behind the decision to remove the flag.”

Mississippi Speaker Calls for Change to State Flag

Quoted Text
Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn (R) said that the Confederate emblem in the state’s official
flag has to go, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.

Said Gunn: “We must always remember our past, but that does not mean we must let it define us.
As a Christian, I believe our state’s flag has become a point of offense that needs to be removed.
We need to begin having conversations about changing Mississippi’s flag.”

Yup, the decision to support removal of the flag has EVERYTHING to do with politics and NOTHING to do with getting to the reason why these "hate" crimes continue to happen. When it comes down, either today or tomorrow, everyone will celebrate that it did.... but what will they blame after the next racially based crime happens?

For 2,920 years (or about 97% of its existence), the swastika wasn't

The Japanese interned in WII considered this flag as America's swastika

The swastika represents fascism and statism.  The stars and bars represented a confederation of states and the secession from the tyranny of the Union.  Every nation on earth in the 17th 18th and 19th century traded slaves.  If the confederate flag symbolizes slavery to some, then their knowledge of history is rooted in ignorance.  Slavery was a practice under the grand old flag too.

Exactly.  It's just a rag.  So why all the Conservative fuss about a RAG?  Take it down.

Fine, take it down.

By taking it down, what changes?

Oh and 15 blacks were murdered over the weekend in Chicago, not one Confederate flag was in sight.

Oh and since you wanted to go there, it is plainly obvious that the Clintons are racists and Nazis since the supported the Confederate flag.

I'm glad that the baseball team supported Clinton, and even had pins made showing their support!

So as long as it benefits Democrats, use of the Confederate symbol is A-OK...
Thanks for clearing that up!

Based on left wing rules, any unsolicited support by a person or organization that appears to be racist or uses the newly defined racist symbol, the confederate flag, MUST DENOUNCE AND CODEMN unsolicited supporter.
