A recent survey found that Americans are divided over what the Confederate flag represents. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed see the stars and banners as a symbol of racism, while an equal number agreed that it is a symbol of Southern pride. The remaining 2 percent did not have a response.
Eighty-one percent of blacks Americans surveyed see the flag as a symbol of racism, compared to 41 percent of whites.
The majority of Republicans surveyed — 74 percent — consider the flag a symbol of Southern pride, while the majority of Democrats surveyed — 72 percent— believe the flag is indicative of racism.

The name refers to the union of what were once four separate nations: England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (though most of Ireland is now independent).
The Union Jack should certainly never be flown in Ireland, since the English sold the Irish into slavery. The union jack is a symbol of slavery. It must be removed from all state houses.
I think it's messed up that anyone would be so backwards and hatefilled that they would fly a flag that represents anti american, pro-slavery and racist idealogy. At the same time the fact that a whole state of morons chooses to do so, should still be their right to do so, and should serve as a warning to anyone with half a brain to stay away at all costs.

Every European flag flying at the United Nation should be removed, since every European nation participated in the Atlantic slave trade. You can add western African flags to that list also. There are a lot of flags that need to be removed to scrub the symbol of slavery from history.

How? First, because the Germans had no choice in whether to fight or not. There were MANY documented cases of "Aryan" Germans being sent to work camps or worse because of their refusal to become a soldier.
Second, because the Germans were fighting for Annexation, not Secession .
