Rand Paul, like his father is nothing short of a progressive.
they both say 'just enough' to make them sound 'libertarian'....but they are progressives at their core.

They are both individualists that say "just enough" to sound like collectivist.  The conservative vs liberal political spectrum are both collectivist philosophies. That's why both Republicans and Democrats attack them.  The idea of the individual is not permitted in American politics.

It's just like the 60's all over again.
the progressives should luv the libertarians.
there are no absolutes with the progressives nor with the libertarians.....or even the reps for that matter.

it's a ..... 'if it feels good, do it'....and there should be NO ONE who can tell you any different!!

The homosexual community has stated that same sex marriage was just a small part of their agenda.
They want to abolish MARRIAGE all together. what is the libertarian view?

And the 'paul' followers agree...yes?

and those beliefs are also the progressive's beliefs. So the 'pauls' can only help their agenda.

These changes would be good for families, good for diversity, good for gender equality and thus good for liberal democratic politics.

So, congratulations newly reweds! When you’re finished celebrating, let’s keep working for a more perfect union and get the state out of marriage.

Progressives don't like individualists.  They hate private property rights.  They prefer a powerful state to enforce their beliefs onto everybody.  The progressives never argued to get the state out of marriage, they wanted the all powerful state to define who is permitted to marry.

There are most definitely absolutes with progressives and conservatives.  Every social policy is absolutely enforced at the barrel of a gun. And they both believe all absolutes are determined by government and never left up to the individual.
The next absolute determined by government will be Christian churches cannot incite hatred toward homosexuals from the pulpit.

They want to abolish MARRIAGE all together???
They have been fighting for the same rights as everyone else.
The RIGHT TO BE MARRIED... yet Bumbler thinks they want to abolish marriage all together.

A very strange view!

Anyone can marry.  You just need a contract between two people.
If you want to be recognized as a "married couple" by the state,  (like Cicero does),
then you must meet the requirements of the STATE to get those benefits from the STATE.
No one is forcing Cicero to claim "married" on his income tax.  He could always file "single"
and so could his spouse.

I agree.  That's why millions of Christians should stop paying social security taxes and save for their own spousal benefits.  But in "Murica" if Christians ever uttered those words they would be condemned by the state and jailed as tax evaders.  You see how the collectivist state controls religion?

No one is forcing me to get a state license, but the state certainly controls my labor and forces me to get their license in order to collect the money they forcibly take from me.

No, I don't want the entitlements. You want the entitlements.  Unfortunately I was born into the entitlement system and I was forced to pay into at 18 before ever casting a vote.

Don't know, probably a lot.  $17 trillion in national debt and counting.  Not including the $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities. My kids will walk into probably about $30 trillion worth of federal "entitlements" before casting a vote.  I'll be sure to tell them to vote and vote often.
