I would be happy if the whole issue was honestly investigated; and if he is found to have deserted, (which I whole heartedly believe is fact), then he should be charged, stand trial and sentenced accordingly.
I don't believe: (a) they could ever charge him for the deaths incurred (b) the military will actually charge him and send him to trial
I do believe: (1) He intentionally walked away and had no intention of coming back (2) He is/was a Taliban sympathizer (3) He should be tried in a military court (4) This whole thing will be swept under the rug (5) This is going to damage morale in the military and cause a lot of damage all around, including how future terrorist/enemies treat our military if taken prisoner or captured....
