Finally!  A Pic Of The Bumbler!!!

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Foxnews is taking full advantage of this to be sure, but I don't recall the ducksters speaking Arabic, pashto, or tweeting "God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen."

But soldiers weren’t celebrating his rescue.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, visiting troops in Afghanistan, was met with an awkward silence when he told a group of them in a Bagram Air Field hangar: “This is a happy day. We got one of our own back.”

On Facebook, a Bowe Bergdahl is NOT a Hero! had over 8,500 members. A petition on the White House website calling for Bergdahl to be punished for being AWOL had over 5,300 signatures.

“I was pissed off then and I am even more so now with everything going on,” former Sgt. Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl's platoon, told CNN.

“Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him.”

No American left behind does not equal negotiating with Enemy terrorists.
Those TOP 5 that were released will resurface and we will see the consequences.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal Who Was In Charge When Bergdahl Was Captured:
'We Don't Leave Americans Behind'

“We’re going to have to wait and talk to Sgt. Bergdahl now and get his side of the story,” he said.
“One of the great things about America is we should not judge until we know the facts. And after
we know the facts, then we should make a mature judgment on how we should handle it.”

His statements echo other high-ranking military leaders' opinions of his release, amid allegations
the young soldier freely wandered off his base to seek out the Taliban.

Had Bergdahl died in captivity, the Right would be crying that "Obama left one of our troops to die at
the hands of the Taliban."

What about those that were beheaded and/or died in captivity?
What about those still held captive around the world?
No negotiations with terrorists for those left behind!!!!

It's interesting that McChrystal made no mention of getting the "facts" from others that were there
Is the Army simply going to take Bergdahl's word for it?
It's pretty predictable that Bergdahl is going contradict what several of his team members have already come out with.
What then?

This will be politically controlled, that's the way the Military is now, and I'm not singling out either party, they both are responsible.
The easy way out is a Medical discharge, and I fully expect the Army to use the escape hatch.

LAST WEEK:
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) delivered a Memorial Day message in which she urged Americans
to keep Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl “in our thoughts and prayers.” She added, “I renew
my call on the Defense Department to redouble its efforts to find Sergeant Bergdahl and
return him safely to his family.”
THIS WEEK:
U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte is urging the Senate Armed Services Committee to hold a hearing on
a prisoner swap.

Quoted Text
In February:
Asked specifically by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the prospect of a 5-for-1 prisoner exchange,
Sen John McCain replied, “I would support. Obviously I’d have to know the details, but I
would support ways of bringing him home, and if exchange was one of them, I think that
would be something I think we should seriously consider.”
In June:
“It is disturbing that these individuals would have the ability to re-enter the fight, and they
are big, high-level people, possibly responsibly for the deaths of thousands,” McCain said.
(McCain has not explained why he was “inclined to support” the same deal the Obama
administration actually struck, which the senator is no longer inclined to support.)

In McCain's case:

The High level of the detainees that were released would probably been one of the factors he would consider based on  his quote "Obviously I’d have to know the details"
It's something he  never got to find out about since Obama ignored the notification law that he signed.
Even Feinstein came out with a statement expressing her displeasure at the Obama end-around.
