First things first. If the NBA votes to oust him, then he must sell his team. If he doesn't the NBA will sell it for him at their price. Until there is a vote on the sale, nothing will happen. BTW, why do you continue to pay taxes to a GOVT that you consider EVIL??? |

WRONG! NBA is an association not a league. They can't force him to sell. He owns the organization. Do some more research. |

Box, you do know that based on California law the Sterling conversation was illegally recorded? What legal recourse does the NBA have using illegal evidence?
No one is charging Sterling with a crime. It's not against the law to be a ScumBag Bigot in CA. He did sign an agreement when he bought the team, and under that contract, he agreed to certain specific conditions of owning a team. If it was illegal to be a bigot, half of this board would be in jail!  |

On Tuesday, Mr. Silver announced that Mr. Sterling would be banned for life and fined

The NBA’s constitution – a collection of bylaws governing the operation of the league and
agreed to by the league’s 30 team owners – grants the NBA’s commissioner wide latitude to
punish behavior deemed “prejudicial” or “detrimental” to the league, according to Gabe Feldman,
director of the sports-law program at Tulane University.
The constitution specifically allows for fines and indefinite suspensions. “It’s a broad power
that Adam Silver has, and it’s given to him explicitly by Sterling and the other 29 owners,”
said Mr. Feldman.
