Quoted from Shadow
Lt. Gen. Mark Milley, senior officer at the nation's largest Army base, said there was a "strong indication" that Lopez was involved in a verbal altercation shortly before the shooting, though it doesn't appear he targeted specific soldiers during the attack. Investigators also are focusing on his mental health.

"We have very strong evidence that he had a medical history that indicates unstable psychiatric or psychological condition," Milley said. "We believe that to be a fundamental, underlying cause."  http://news.yahoo.com/fort-hood-gunman-had-unstable-mental-condition-063114104.html

YUP!  He was being evaluated for that condition, but his evaluation or treatment was not complete.

we can spend tons of $$ on background checks and registering folks and tracking folks....

HOWEVER, IN AMERICA YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.....at least that WAS THE FU(KING AMERICAN DREAM...

now it's some dystopia where kids are drugged, made into cogs, military might is touted as great, tax welfare is the norm
and the dystopia is just blooming right out of a Timothy Leary 60's love fest....

doing a background check doesn't prove safety....same as drug testing doesn't prove incompetence....

behavior modification/control gone awry in America....

WHAT A FU(KING SAD DECADE IN HISTORY.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Five words that can fix the Second Amendment.
(By Supreme Court Justice Paul Stevens)

~ “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms *when serving in the Militia* shall
not be infringed.” ~

I can see Tattoo yelling "Boss! Boss!...The plane! The plane!" and Mr. Roarke greeting former Justice Stevens

"Welcome to Fantasy Island™"

Anyone that would suggest a 'fix' is to think that something is wrong.....

There is nothing wrong with the 2nd.

Really?  Then why is there so much difference of opinion on what is covered by the second amendment?
According to (very conservative) Supreme Court Justice Scalia, the 2nd amendment is not unlimited.
It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for
whatever purpose.
Yet there are TeaBagger Militia's who disagree with both Justice Scalia and Justice Stevens. They seem
to think their 2nd amendment right IS UNLIMITED and that it IS a right to carry any weapon in any
manner for whatever purpose.
  One of them is wrong.

We are all militia and we serve on our own watch not somebody else's, I think somebody is confusing militia with a standing army which is NOT a militia. Militia don't take orders from higher ups everyone is free to do as they please, they serve for their own cause not the cause of others and are free to VOLUNTEERLY be active or not. So sure add it in it doesn't change anything unless they wish to change the definition of militia.

So, Henry's "militia" today has the cause of Upholding His Right To Shoot on the State Capitol Steps.  It's his
militia and (according to Henry) his militia can do what ever it wants.  Laws Do Not Apply!

Where does militia have anything to do with shooting on the capital steps? Oh I get it you just don't like what a militia actually is so you are dodging it and giving what ifs

If Henry's TeaBagger Militia wants to shoot on the capitol steps...
"THEY DON'T TAKE ORDERS FROM HIGHER UPS
EVERYONE IS FREE TO DO AS THEY PLEASE..."

Oh brother, I was telling you the difference between militia and a standing army which you think is militia In a standing army you must obey your higher command, militia doesn't have a higher command, you are voluntarily there and are free leave or join at any time, your actions are on you nobody else.

MILITIA:
1.a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for
drill but serving full time only in emergencies.
(Nope that's not it)
2.a body of citizen soldiers as distinguished from professional soldiers.
(No, that isn't what Henry wants it to be)
3.all able-bodied males considered by law eligible for military service.
(Still wrong)
4.a body of citizens organized in a paramilitary group and typically regarding themselves
as defenders of individual rights against the presumed interference of the federal government.
(YES YES YES!!!  THAT'S HENRY'S MILITIA)

The TeaBagger Militia!!!

Henry's Defenders Of Liberty!!!

Bloomberg’s $50 Million Investment in Fear

Michael Bloomberg examined a confiscated gun on Oct. 12, 2012.
Fourteen years ago, hundreds of thousands of women and their families rallied along the National Mall in the Million Mom March, demanding greater gun safety for their children and touching off a grass-roots political challenge to the National Rifle Association’s grip on Congress. Yet their campaign has only grown more difficult since then despite the steady, grisly flow of carnage.

This fact has not dissuaded former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg from doubling down on his already considerable investment in gun politics. Fully a citizen philanthropist now, Mr. Bloomberg announced plans Tuesday to revamp his ongoing national campaign by emulating the gun-lobby’s bare-knuckled intimidation of lawmakers.

“We’ve got to make them afraid of us,” Mr. Bloomberg said, backing his words with a $50 million donation to a new group, Everytown for Gun Safety, which will focus not on Congress but on politicians in 15 statehouses.

Mr. Bloomberg’s previous attempts to influence state races have not been uniformly successful, to say the least. After gun-rights activists in Colorado led a recall drive against two state senators who’d voted to require universal background checks, Mr. Bloomberg put up money to defend the politicians. The gun-rights camp won.

Yet Mr. Bloomberg is plunging further. He plans to enlist women and mothers in particular in a single-issue movement, which will emphasize door-to-door field operations, not just television broadsides. The goal is to sign up one million more supporters by the fall election.

All this makes the gun lobby, which easily prevailed after the Million Mom March, almost gleeful. It’s a chance for gun-rights activists to once more flex their muscles and demonstrate to Mr. Bloomberg “why his side keeps losing,” as the executive director of Gun Owners of America, Larry Pratt, put it.

Unfazed, Mr. Bloomberg invoked his track record at City Hall for enacting some supposedly lost causes on behalf of public health and safety. “You’ve got to wear them down until they finally say, ‘Enough.’”
