The truth is suicides account for more than 50% of total gun deaths in the US annually. But it is always a homicide or multiple homicide that gets the public attention and support for tougher gun laws. What are the anti-gun people afraid of? If it is actually true that tougher gun laws have a positive effect on reducing non-suicidal gun deaths, which is the real public concern, they should have no problem separating the data out and presenting it.
