One of George Zimmerman’s most outspoken supporters has apparently changed his story.

Frank Taaffe testified Wednesday before a grand jury that Zimmerman may have called him
and made racially charged comments in a phone call shortly after he shot and killed 17-year-old
Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

He told the grand jury that he received a call from an unknown number two years ago from
a man who made racist comments about Martin.

At the time, he thought it was a prank call and disregarded the comments, but now he suspects
the call may have come from his neighbor and friend, Zimmerman.

A federal grand jury is hearing evidence in the case to decide whether Zimmerman – who was
acquitted of murder charges in the case – will face federal charges for violating the unarmed
teen’s civil rights.

Wow!  The Feds were able to get a witness to flip.  That should play out well in a jury trial when a defense attorney can cross examine the witness.  Let's see if a grand jury has anybody smart enough to discredit the person that changed their story over a year after the incident.  This is one witness whose memory gets better over time.LOL

Don't know. . With such a high profile homicide case, I find it hard to believe the investigators didn't look at his phone records before and after the incident.

(CNN)George Zimmerman -- the man acquitted by a Florida jury over the death of Trayvon Martin -- was arrested
Friday in Florida on suspicion of aggravated assault and domestic violence with a weapon, local authorities said.

The 31-year-old Florida man was arrested by police in Lake Mary around 10 p.m. and booked into the John E. Polk
Correctional Facility, according to that facility's website

LAKE MARY, Fla. —George Zimmerman was injured in a shooting in Lake Mary on Monday
afternoon, according to Lake Mary Police Chief Steve Bracknell.

The shooting involved Zimmerman and another man and happened on Lake Mary Boulevard
about 12:45 p.m., police said.

According to Bracknell, officers at the scene reported Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound.
