The police chief of the town where teenager Trayvon Martin was shot and killed has ordered neighborhood
watch volunteers to report to duty in their neighborhoods unarmed or not to report at all.
Sanford, Florida’s new police chief Cecil Smith is making major changes to the city’s neighborhood watch program.

In addition to the no weapons rule, Smith said, volunteers will be asked not to pursue individuals they believe
may have committed a crime. Martin’s death at the hands of neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman
in February of 2012 was the result of a dysfunctional system, said the new chief.

“In this program,” Smith explained, “it is clearly stated that you will not pursue an individual. In this new program,
it clearly indicates that you will not carry a firearm when performing your duties as a neighborhood watch
captain or participant.”

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Lake Mary, Fla. police "could not salvage"
video that allegedly showed footage of the altercation, which took place Sept. 9.

Security camera footage shows Zimmerman destroying the iPad.

Without that footage, police said they didn't have enough evidence to pursue domestic
violence or other charges.

“That iPad is in half a dozen pieces at this point,” Lake Mary Officer Zach Hudson told
the Huffington Post days after the incident.

Police sent the remains of the device to a lab, but technicians were unable to extract the
video Shellie Zimmerman recorded.

Zimmerman has been accused of domestic violence and molesting a female relative
in the past. He was also arrested for two third degree felonies involving assaulting
a police officer. Different domestic violence allegations by different women at different
times are not a coincidence. Zimmerman has all the hallmarks of a predator and an abuser.

can do whatever he wants and get away with it.
When the Trayvon Martin jury let Zimmerman walk,
they didn’t just let a killer go free. They opened the door
for Zimmerman to injure others.
