Maybe the problems are simple

1)noone wants to go to a museam anymore
2)noone wants to go to a museam anymore
3)noone wants to go to a museam anymore

Their was a time when people didn't have so much cheap / free entertainment, and streamed right to your freaking hand (cellphone?!?!), and during that time, a think like a museam was a great/cheap way to spend a weekend... add on the fact that the NYS is just 15 minutes away and kicks are museams arse, well.

No one goes to museums in Schenectady. Schenectady Museum has lost $1.9 MILLION over the past three years with 3 executive directors. This is not a national problem which is the typical DVR/SB/Hamburger response when caught fiscally mismanaging. Now they bought in an "interim" director from New Hampshire! Not a retired GE guy, not a business turnaround expert, another non profit expert.

MUSEUMS ARE HAVING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS --- and it is not just a nationwide phenomenon  .. it is happening all around the world.   This has been the reality for a number of years and just because an uninformed nayboob claims otherwise ...... this yet another problem that is not unique to Schenectady  .. despite his/her feeble attempts to throw mud and claim otherwise.

The new generation could give a rats a$$ about looking at old stuff!!! Education is different today. Small town museums are a thing of the past. National museums will always be tourist attractions. And honestly.........who really wants to come to schenectady for anything???

This museum is another money pit, it was located in the wrong place with no parking and run into the ground by DEMS cheerleaders. These idiots couldn't even run a Festival of Nations profitably. The Greek Festival kicked their butt. This is not a worldwide occurrence. Museums are thriving in NYC, Miami and Europe. They have to have timely exhibits and know how to promote. The museum bored gave away Picassos and idiotically decided to focus on dusty radios and tubes. Exactly like the Edison on Broadway which is another disaster. The implosion crew from Metrograft/County destroying every civic function by stacking the bored with partisan stooges.

The museum was built when Republicans ran the county and the city (and the state and the country) --- so its location can only be blamed on one party .... the Republican Party.

There are museums in NYC and Europe that are hurting just as much as the Schenectady Museum --- so I suggest that you need to go back ...  find out the FACTS.

Perhaps if the museum wasn't located in a war zone, where visitors can't travel to the location without being approached by
gang members, aggressive vagrants, and skanky prostitutes, the parents of young children and school districts would feel
comfortable with bringing young children.  Either locate the museum to a better part of the county or close the doors.

Additionally, the exhibits need to change frequently so that there is something different each time that local residents
visit.  I've been there numerous times in the past only to find that the exhibits are old and tired.

Nothing factual?????    Uh, so, when we say taxes are going up, that is not factual?????
When we say property values are plummeting, you are gooing to say that is not factual?
Homeonwers are being raped and robbed of their money to cover the cost of the property taxes downtown, are you saying that is not factual?
Etc

What is positive DV ?????    Homeonwers paying taxes for the millionaires and politically connected downtown is positive?
Home values plummeting - that is positive?
Paying almost the highest taxes in the whole country is positive?
School district having a graduation rate of not much over 50% - that is positive?

Oh yeah, Proctors is positive, downtown is postive - yeah, it's all positive when homeowners lose their homes due to tax foreclosure....and that is a good thing????

Of course, DV, when the FACTS are put in front of you, in black and white, with documentation to prove the facts, you avoid responding, you avoid discussing the facts, that's when you resort to spewing babble and/or obscenties.

SOOOOO, DV, when are you going to buy a house in the in the city, pay taxes in the city, and move into the city and live in it, huh????????

Oh yeah, you won't answer that question either because you never will.    I mean, WHY would you wait until the prices go higher - based on your claims that the city is improving????    and WHY would you wait until mortgage rates go high again?   Oh yeah, you won't answer these questions, you'll just respond with babble and/or obscenities, i.e, the usual response when you don't want ot admit to the truth, the FACTS.

.
