The no new tax group doesn't want to work with the GOP...they want their own way or they will set out to be spoilers.

I don't think that's true at all.  For a Party that doesn't put up one person in the City, they should be on their knees welcoming the NNTP candidates and their supporters.  Instead they insult them, claiming that everybody that supports NNTP candidates work for RACC.

In reverse, couldn't it be said.......'the GOP wants it their own way and will set the third party candidates out to be spoilers'?

I personally don't like the word 'spoiler'. It always appeared to me to be a slap in the face of the electorate who support these third party candidates. A segment of the electorate who are tired of the two party system. It is another choice and another voice.

The same could be said about Ron Paul who has millions of supporters.

And exactly how long are rotterdamians suppose to wait until their rep party gets their act together?  It's been too long already.

If you want to take issue....take it up with the con party that endorses dems! IMHO of course.

Sure...it can be said...but it doesn't change reality. The fact is that it is not up to a fringe group to give the major established
Party the chance...it's the other way around...and McGarry has made it clear that if he doesn't get the Rep nod he will run on
the NNTP line...and he knows that will hurt his own Party's candidates.

Like it or not, no one is walking into any Party one day and calling the shots the next...and Brian doesn't seem capable of
compromise...a very necessary component of politics.

And as you know Bumble...I have taken constant issue with the Dem faction of our Party.

As I monitor this board I wonder how long you will all continue this conversation without resolution.  NNTP WAS and IS a spoiler.  Blame your Buchanan guy.  The Republicans have no good candidates to date and the NNTP were losers that helped the Democrats sail into office...a motley crew but Democrats just the same.  Who does all the thinking here for the Rep/Con party?  Buchanan, Parisi, out of towner Littlefield, Mertz, or KR?  You guys are going to need a "new" cocktail if you want to win.  My suggestion--steer clear of the Tea Party people.   The general audience is fed up with the political rhetoric and tone they set via mouthpieces like Palin, Beck and various other blowhards.  Can't blame Liberals for this.

I disagree; the leaders of both parties along with the media are attempting to quell the legitimate civil unrest that has been stirring for the past two plus years, with this B.S. call for "civil discourse".  Both parties feel threatened by the political strength of the Tea Party and they are attempting to make a bipartisan call to tone down the rhetoric and derail the movement.  This is being framed as a response to the Tucson tragedy(which we all know had nothing to do with political discourse) , when in fact it is in response to the Tea Party movement and the political threats to the established ruling class.

The general audience is NOT fed up with the political rhetoric - the general audience understands the reality of the status quo oligarchy controlling American politics and wants it changed.

How do the Republicans expand their sphere of influence in the county, by rejecting NNTP candidates?  Just because they are running in Rotterdam doesn't mean the momentum won't carry into the city, motivating others to get involved.  That's how politics works.  People don't get involved because they think they can't make a difference,,,until they start seeing people getting involved making a difference.  The Rotterdam Republicans are more concerned about maintaining control of the party; they refuse to acknowledge the positive energy and momentum the NNTP is creating.

Cicero you are speaking from a partisan place.  The general audience is now taking stock and beginning to participate in the conversation that is at hand...it is time to look at the tone that has been caused by a few with major media coverage.  The rhetoric of the Tea Party and Conservatives incites violence and makes it look permissible.  The shooting of Giffords was not just an incident but an assassination attempt on her life.  Can't agree with you.

I don't know that any City candidates have been rejected by the GOP...none have been introduced for consideration. No one
is suggesting that momentum doesn't spread...all I'm saying is that the no new tax group will not dictate to the Republican
Party...or any other for that matter...no Party would be receptive to that. It's another one of those realities...

I can't agree.  The madman unloaded 30 rounds(and was reloading) killing a 9 year old child.  Are you saying this was an assassination attempt on the 9 year old?  This was a lone gunman with mental illness on a shooting spree, not a calculated assassination attempt based on something Beck or Palin said.  It is illogical to call for civil discourse because of this tragedy, when there is no relationship between the incident and political rhetoric.  The only effect it is meant to have is to curb the speech of those that articulate the sentiment of those in the Tea Party.

I heard a rumor that Yossi might be attending the NNTP fundraiser at Canali's this Thursday night. He doesn't want to miss out on the political event of the season.

Maybe the NNTP can come up with electable opponents to these fossil DEMS? We need opponents-we need checks and balances-we need a new broom.

Not saying dictate, but if they want to GROW their party they should find a way to compromise.  My understanding is, the GOP are still holding on to sour grapes.  America has been playing by the rules set up by the two parties, look how well that has worked.  Sometimes the rules need to be rewritten.

If the GOP is still on the sour grapes then they need to get over it...but they are not the ones unwilling to compromise.
