All this talk about high school friendships, weren't GP and GA high school friends?

All I know is, when the NNTP did their thing, they were noble soldiers of a movement.  When GP tries to rage against the SAME MACHINE, he is a dissenting, whiny baby - makes no sense.  I expect more from you bumblethru - at least pretend to be fair.

Gerard is part of the machine.  He is continuing a fight within the Republican Party, in total disregard of the will of residents.  Brad Littlefield, Michael O'Connor, and Brian McGarry were never part of the machine.  John Mertz, that's a different story - but don't forget, the local party unendorsed him.  Gerard and the rest of the failed Republican executive board have such little influence inside government, this is about all they can do.  They can hold the party endorsement over an elected officials head.  This is just another example of assured mutual destruction.

This has all to do with power and party, and very little to do with principle.

Gerard re-calculated, and it looks like riding Santabarbara into the Assembly is the easiest means to his end game.

I wonder how you know what the conservatives would do Pet...er...pg13

I'll try and spell it out for you and others because I realize there are some individuals on here who are not too "politically smart." Say a primary went off between GA & GP and GP was able to win (better chance to win the lottery), think about the lines.... Dems would have their candidate, Independents would probably endorse GA (if not him then the DEM), Conservatives would endorse George. Working Families would endorse the Dem.

So, if my thinking is right, if GP ws able to pull off the upset of the century, he would end up with one line and he wouldn't have a chance in hell to win. Unless of course you think he'll have the No New Tax party line.....LOL! And both Repub candidates have spent a large amount of their campaign dollars in the primary therefore giving an edge to the Dem opponent.

So you tell me, why would GP even think about it? IMO, the only logical explanation is to help out the Democrat candidate.

How can you rage against yourself? This is all nonsense from same REP "leaders" that can't win a town clerk race-even with 4 lines. They have no support anywhere. George Amedore in another landslide.

And, don't forget, the NNTP was the party created because of political gripes. Mertz had a political gripe with the local republicans and created the NNTP. I didn't see you criticizing him though.

Let's not rewrite history here.  Mertz(a sitting ELECTED Republican) decided to run with 3 other candidates as the NNTP, only after the local Republican Party announced they would not endorse him.  The only thing that would be similar, is if George loses the endorsement and decides to primary for the Republican endorsement and run on an independent line like Mertz did.  Essentially splitting the ticket and giving the election to the Democrat.(which we all assume would be his good friend Angelo)

GP IS the machine! Don't you get it?

Where are the reps these days? Ya know the ones that ran 4+ years ago on Walmart's coat tales and won !? Where are the reps at a town board meetings? Where are they when the residents need another voice on their side? They are ABSENT!!!!

With this inept town board and the developers at the residents door, this is the opportunity of a life time for the rep party to be recognized and re-built and supported. IF they were smart, (which they obviously are not), they would be rallying on the side of the residents in newspaper articles, speaking at town board meetings and even going door to door.

But nooooooo.......they are too busy destroying what is left of their party! And then GP has KR as his mouth piece. The repparty might just as well dig a hole and bury themselves now.

I don't think this move is to open the way for a dem. I think it is all about revenge and the on going battle between the local and state reps! Pathetic!

I'll say it again to all rotterdam neighbors.....we need to stick together and depend on each other for support. Local government just ain't cuttin' it! Rotterdam residents are the only ones that can and will let their voices be heard.....collectively!!!

Gerard is not in charge anymore.  Jim Longo is.  And I heard a rumor that he won't be endorsed for the town board position again next fall.

How does that make him ANY different that Mertz?

You guys love to twist everything...

The point is that this town's lack of vision has made a sh!thole of rotterdam by spot zoning and allowing the 'chosen few' to develop where ever and whenever they wanted. Some got kick backs...obviously! And some residents got to live on a swamp....with no one to accept responsibility!

But that was then and this is now. The residents are much smarter and much more informed. THEY will make sure that all of the 'I's' are dotted and the 'T's' are crossed. They have made themselves aware of the historic corruption and haphazard developments and will make sure history doesn't repeat itself.

Apparently the residents can no longer trust the decisions made by their elected officials. So it appears that the residents will take on the role of government themselves and in all actuality, do their work for them..........the right way. Hell...they even got their own attorney!!! BRAVO!!!

We all knew that GP was in this seat until Nov ONLY! I heard a rumor too that there are people already being approached by the reps to run for that seat.

This is clearly not a tea party move.....again.....just a conspiracy theory that fuels and motivates the local reps!! It don't get any simpler than that!!! No twisting here!

Bumble what am I missing here? It seems to me that when you are involved it's a tea party. When it is against you it's wrong.
