But what do I know I am new  to this town and just listen to my friends at the Senior Center (who DO NOT LIKE Mr Surprise.)

That's odd, my mother is very involved over there and she says she never hears anything "bad" about him.  Peeps there don't necessarily like ST, but they don't blame CS.

They are, from what she tells me, very encouraged by Joe Surhada running in the town instead of the county.

Guess it all depends on who you talk to, eh?

Maybe your mother likes him but there are many who do not.  I have become very active and very close with many officer holders at the Center.  I adore Mr DeGeorgio and believe that these people don't make any bones about it.  They do not like Mr Surprise or his staff and will vote for Mr DelGallo and his democratic team for Reform in that Office.

I for one was treated rudely and humiliated by that man and I won't soon forget it.  He is obnoxious and mean.

Oh what phony crap. How unconvincing you are! You and twelve other bloggers are the same 3 democrat committeemen or employees in the town. Get a life.

  I adore Mr DeGeorgio .
I don't think that I have ever heard a 'guy' use the word 'adore' when referring to another guy.

That is because it is the same woman who is Cal and Blender (glad you used a more anonymous email address this time- congratulations), and who got laid off by the Tommasone administration a few years ago and is full of sour grapes, hate and revenge. She spins the same tired cliches about "anger" and "hate" and "seniors" voting all the Republicans out, blah, blah, blah...How tiring and amateur that you almost begin to feel sorry for how pathetic it is...They all have axes to grind such that they pretend it is someone else who has the axe to grind...Does anyone know that Italian expression about "the tongue striking the aching tooth" ???? I heard it as a kid but don't know the way it is said in Italian...It is pretty accurate in a case like this.

I was actually thinking of someone else. Not that it really matters to me on the 'who is who' around here.

k, I asked this question earlier in this discussion.  Has anyone heard any of the
candidates speak to the issues below?  Any campaign literature among the piles
that have been mailed to voters address the candidates' positions on ANY issues?

This election is not about issues that affect the residents.  It is apparently
nothing more than a popularity contest or perhaps a beauty contest (in which
case NONE of the candidates will be elected).

  • Golub Warehouse Expansion?
  • Creation of an ambulance tax district?
  • Development of Route 7 corridor on west end of town?
  • REMS?
  • Revitalization of Hamburg Street business corridor?
  • Protection of the Aquifer?
  • Homestead exemption changes?
  • Property Taxes?
  • Patronage?

It is time that we begin to demand answers on where the candidates stand.  How will they govern?

Don't bother me with issues.  Don't you know...Democrat bad Republican good, Republican bad Democrat good.  Let's not start confusing the residents by asking the candidates position on issues.

There should be NO ELECTIONS for the town clerk or the receiver of taxes. That is just plain ridiculous!

It is a clerical position am i right?  Seems an election for it is definately ridiculous.. .yesterday when i went to Price Gouger, I noticed a sign and had the same exact thought.

I don't spell check!  Sorry...

ROTFLMAO! Is Howdy Doody's team supporting the EMS tax today?

The most important issues are who was at the Little League game and who was at festa buying fried dough.

Ya'd think they(S.T. suhrs, sigs, and march) were liberal dems now. Asking the taxpayers to bend over for yet ANOTHER TAX (rems) and at the same time shaking hands, kissing babys and showing up at all of the feel good functions in town.
Told ya they were both the same. At least the NNTP has given us a viable choice....thank God! IMHO

Just got caught up on the blog--I can tell you from personal experience that Mr. Surprise is VERY rude.  Or maybe he is just anti-Italian.

And Bumble, I agree, most guys do not use the term "adore" when speaking of other guys.  (Well some do but that is for another blog)

Delgallo had a great PR piece this week.  I saw it last night.  He resonates with business people.  The Dems will be in and the EGO and company will go hat in hand.  Dems will sweep.  Unfamiliar with Martin--if he's not in the saddle as somebody said, he needs to get shaped up quickly or the candy man could end being the only nut in a dish of sweets.
