I certainly hope mertzie isn't helping fdg. And why would he do that when he is part of the NNTP which includes mcgarry? (doesn't make sense) Hey molly....must be another conspiracy, huh?

With that said, IF mertzie was in any way, shape or form, helping fdg......I wouldn't vote for him. Until I find out otherwise, mertzie still gets my vote. IMHO

Bumble ~ good point.  I suppose if he was helping Fran, he would probably have a DelGallo sign on his lawn and would have contributed to his campaign ~ can anyone verify either of these?  Looks to me like Mertz has only been associated with McGarry and the others, so I am inclined to believe it's all misdirection.  As I understand it ~

we should know by tomorrow exactly where Mr. Mertz stands ~ it's either with McGarry or DelGallo.  Either way ~ voting for McGarry as the alternative to Ego and Fran is certainly warranted!

There has been talk for months that Mertz has been working with DelGallo to take out Tommasone, if so ~ so what?

SO WHAT you say?????
For all of the 'vote no for fdg' people.....it would also then include....'vote no for mertzie'. Is this a fact filipe or just political rhetoric? Again, why would mertzie help fdg when he's aligned with mcgarry? Or perhaps it's just a 'molly conspiracy'! IMHO

Sounds like bunk to me.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Bumble ~ relax.  No facts here, and if you read my last post ~ instead of the one quoted ~ you would see that I agreed with you.  I have no reason to think that Mertz isn't 100% in with McGarry, until someone proves otherwise.

I found this on an old thread here from october of 2008. Looks like it was parisi who killed the rep party single handedly and got the approval from the dems! How nice that the dem committee chairman enforces the fact that this now signals that the strict republican brand has lost it's luster. Feel better now mr. parisi?

Quoted Text
GOP makes right move in dumping Mertz

Last year, the Rotterdam Republican Committee endorsed a “lifelong Democrat” for the town board because they did not have two Republican candidates.
Now Gerard Parisi, chairman of the Republican committee, has announced that the party is dumping the most partisan, uncompromising Republican — John Mertz — from its 2009 lineup. I welcome this turn of events. It signals that the strict Republican brand has lost its lustre in Rotterdam.
I applaud Parisi’s move.

The writer is the town’s Democratic Committee chairman.

When you're pulling levers tomorrow, don't forget the advocate that John has been for you over the years.  He tackled the tough issues head-on on behalf of you, the taxpayer.  It wasn't always pretty, and maybe there were even times you disgreed with him, but you always knew where he stood.

Heck, John and I don't even always agree.  But we respect each other's views enough when that happens and always come out the other side somehow.  John is a great public servant.  Think about who the guy out front on the tough issues has been over the years and you'll have to admit it was almost always John.  He's been your strongest advocate - tomorrow, you can be his.

We understand your need to be gracious to Mertz.  However, he was a dismal failure at his job--his sense of self-importance and entitlement is insufferable.  He never stood on the right side of any issue.  He didn't even campaign for this election and he was a drag on your ticket.  Even his BT alias is wrong.  It should be BH for Blowhard!

But Good luck to you Michael.  You also would be a breath of fresh air on that board.

Tonight the people spoke! Congrats to the winners! The Rotterdam Democrats!!! The Republicans were trounced and the NNTP was trounced even worse. Maybe it is time a fourth, or fifth party now too, or at least enough to make sure every particular issue is covered. The apparent message is that the Democrat platform is what Rotterdamians want and I understand and respect that. The people voted for change they can believe in, and that is to be respected.

Democracy is a wonderful thing, and we all abide by it. God Bless!

Hey, we all know a few of them did what they did. Not all of them. I have always maintained that you can't paint a whole department by the actions of a couple. That is wrong. But God knows the facts of the case.

But the 'leadership' is the face of it.....and the others are it's body......so what is the mind of it?
