The Rotterdam Police Department reports that officers have been called to the scenes of burglaries and attempted burglaries across the area.
According to Police, these crimes took place in three separate areas of the Town of Rotterdam including Hollywood Ave., East Campbell Rd., and multiple attempts in area of Risoli Ln, Mary Ln, Garrison Ave, and Glen Ct. late Friday and into Saturday.
Officers tell CBS 6 that the suspect or suspects tried to get into homes residences through rear doors, sliding glass patio doors or unsecured windows. There were also two exterior sheds that appeared to be entered during this time frame. At one home, the suspect was able to obtain vehicle keys and steal a vehicle. The Rotterdam Police were able to recover that vehicle in the City of Schenectady with the assistance of the Schenectady Police Department.
The Rotterdam Police Department is reminding all of the town's residents to make sure all doors, windows, vehicles and property are secured and locked at all times. Please deter criminal activity at your residence by utilizing exterior lighting to illuminate your property.
