Schenectady County Issues Boil Water Order for Town of Rotterdam excluding Rotterdam Junction The Schenectady County Department of Environmental Health has issued a BOIL WATER ORDER for all of the Town of Rotterdam excluding Rotterdam Junction.
All CUSTOMERS IN THE TOWN OF ROTTERDAM ( excluding Rotterdam Junction) HAVE BEEN ORDERED BY SCHENECTADY COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH TO BOIL ALL WATER FOR DRINKING AND CULINARY PURPOSES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.
Residents should boil water until further notice and will be informed via the media with additional information or when tests confirm that no harmful bacteria are in the system and you no longer need to boil your water.
