The Golub family has sold the Price Chopper and Market32 brands to two different outside companies. Details will be announced in the next few days.
Enjoy your retirement Mr Golub, it's obviously going to be very lucrative!

Probably one of the companies will be Tops Markets from Western NY. Tops is a Italian family orientated company and is unionized so there goes the wages for folks. If Tops is it then the folks working there will lose most of their wages to the high Union dues.
Union VS Non Union According to March 2001 Employer Costs for Employee Compensation (ECEC) data, wages and salaries for private industry union workers averaged $18.36 per hour while those for nonunion private industry workers averaged $14.81 per hour. Union workers’ wages were also higher in March 2011, averaging $23.02 per hour for union workers compared with $19.51 per hour for nonunion workers. Historically, union wage levels have been consistently higher in all reference periods between 2001 and 2011.

Wrong again...Danny Wegman has eliminated over 50% of brand names in favor of Wegman brand, and cost is no benefit, and quality is no benefit. PUBLIX would be a positive option.
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!

Meaningless BS...who did they ask. I know plenty of people that are customers of Wegmans that rec'd no survey. Who do they ask and how unbiased are these!
Go to Wegmans...look at their shelves of offerings...compare their prices with name brands...buy some of their brands and compare to name brands... While you are at it, review their weekly flyers for sale items.....oh wait, they don't do that and haven't for years. How is 10,000 across the country a realistic representation?

Wegmans has been named the No. 1 supermarket again by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).
The latest ACSI report reveals the Rochester-based chain is the highest-rated overall retailer in America, with a score of 86 -- up one notch from last year. Only two other retailers improved their scores from the 2014 report, according to NBC News.
Wegmans, which has more than 85 locations across the Northeast, is also frequently named one of America's best companies to work for by Fortune magazine and America's best overall supermarket by Consumer Reports. The popular grocery store was also named No. 1 for reputation by the Harris Poll last year, above Apple, Google and other big companies

Obviously you have not experienced Wegmans beyond an occasional visit. These ratings are bogus BS. Talk with residents around the Wegmans stores and ask real questions about their products and prices. That didn't happen and won't. I can give you names of over dozen people who have stopped going to Wegmans and now go to PC instead. Defend them all you want, but it's a BS poll, PERIOD!
I will give them this....they hire students are provide tuition assistance...very admirable.
Polls are far from accurate and can be easily manipulated by the questions asked. Wegmans came in ahead of Publix....really! Publix is 10x better than any Wegmans or PC. Heck, I like Hannaford's better than Wegmans. Trader Joes came in next...really! They are not even the same kind of service provider...they are a version of Aldi's, whole different category.
