Rotterdam's Altamont Avenue to close for repairs

ROTTERDAM — A section of Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam will be closed on Sunday and Monday for repairs to the road after a water main break there last week.
Starting on Sunday at 6 p.m., Altamont Avenue will be closed from Crane Street to Flower Road, according to Highway Superintendent Larry LaMora.
The portion of Altamont Avenue will be reopened by Monday night, around 9 p.m., when work is expected to be completed, LaMora said.
The street will be resurfaced following a water main break there last Friday.
Workers with the town's highway and water departments replaced a 15-foot section of the water main at Altamont and Crane.
They also repaired a second water main break on Friday on Van Wormer Road, which required replacing a 10-foot section of the water main.
Van Wormer Road will also be repaired later this month after work is done on Altamont Avenue, LaMora said.
