Based on the assessment value of the property, $2.9 million, and based on the current total tax rate, and assuming a 1% tax increase per year over the 10 years of their so called pilot, this company should pay about $1.4 million in taxes.
But we all know, the human owner of this REFUSES to pay taxes IN the city, nor even in the county, he would NOT lower himself to live IN the city where he gets rich off the taxpayers, more than likely he will pull out of Schenectady upon the end of the pilot, and/or he will sue the city under a tax certiorari and will win just like Galesi did when one of his pilots expired.
But he/transfinder is able to avoid competing with other companies, the company just gets the contract, no competitive bidding. It totally smacks of political favoritism |
