Brokered GOP Conventions
Since its first convention in 1856, the Republican Party has had ten presidential elections in which no candidate
coming into the convention had a majority of delegates.
In 1860,  Sen. William H. Seward entered the convention as the favorite, with 37%of the delegates.
After three ballots, the convention settled on the 2nd place contender, who had only 22% of the delegates.
That 2nd Place Contender...PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

Lincoln wouldn't be eligible to participate in the brokered convention in 2016 unless he had over 50% of the delegates in 8 states(Ron Paul Rule).

~~~   What Presidential Candidate Has This Disorder???   ~~~
Quoted Text
Here is a short review of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V)'s definition of
*Narcissistic Personality Disorder*
Persons with this disorder may come across as conceited, boastful, or pretentious. They often monopolize
conversations. They belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior.
They have trouble handling any comments perceived as criticism. They are thin-skinned due to secret feelings
of insecurity, shame, vulnerability, and humiliation. They will react to any form of criticism with rage or contempt,
and try to belittle the other person.
Specific criteria for narcissistic personality disorder include these features:
Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Expecting to be recognized as superior, even without achievements that would warrant it
Exaggerating achievements and talents
Believing that they are superior
Requiring constant admiration
Having a sense of entitlement
Expecting special favors and unquestioning compliance
Taking advantage of others to get what they want
Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Being envious of others and believing others envy them
Behaving in an arrogant or haughty manner
.
The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral
philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
Sounds like the formula for most of the major party candidates for President. The difference is, except for Trump, they try to mask those traits as much as possible... and maybe that's the appeal of Trump to his supporters...that he doesn't try to put a filter on.
Yes... Nationalism:
Quoted Text
While self-determination is a nationalist principle, it also recognizes the basic equality of all
nations, large or small, and therefore transcends a narrow nationalism that claims superiority for itself.
It was exactly this latter type of nationalism, however, that arose in Nazi Germany, preaching the
superiority of the so-called Aryan race and the need for the extermination of the Jews and the enslavement
of Slavic peoples in their "living space" (see National Socialism). Italian fascism was in a similar manner
based on extreme nationalist sentiments.
