To the mayor's gala open house tour?

It is quite obvious that they are too embarrassed to admit how failing the sales are because they are showing only houses listed in the past couple month (with the exception of two).  Make it seem like houses listed in previous hears have successfully sold.  Ha ha

Once again, the ones in green are repeat appearances.

Here are interesting pieces:

Consaul Rd     It was listed for a whole year 7/16/09 to 7/18/10 asking from $140,000 reduced to $137,500 and no one wanting to buy.  Then  Listed 2 mos in spring 2012 $90,000 to $89,000, still no one wanted to buy.   Listed 3 months starting Jan 2013 for $95,000 no one wanting to buy it?  But the mayor would have you believe that houses are increasing in value and selling like hotcakes.  And now, look at the asking price.   Be sure to see the previous sale price.  Look at how much it the value has fallen under the ex mayor of BS and the current McTHIEF mayor.

McClellan St    It was listed for 4 months starting spring 2011 asking $179,900 and reduced down to $164,500.  No one interested in buying.

Union St    It was listed from June 2014 through January 2015 asking $295,000.  No one willing to pay that high of a price, so dumbass realtors and mayor list again last month but increase the asking price by $80,000.  You can't fix stupid.  If no one is willing to pay $295,000, then what kind of brain thinks that someone will pay an extra $80,000?

Those who cheer the loudest for the mayor and his cronies are the ones who WOULD NOT DARE live IN the city.  Nor would they ever discuss the facts bbacked up by official records.

I think that's because they are throwing in the numbers this year of all the homes they foreclosed on and sold cheap. That doesn't make the venture a "success", it just means they foreclosed on a hell of a lot of properties because the owners couldn't or wouldn't pay the taxes, or couldn't find a buyer and abandoned the place. We'll see how many of these sold properties stay sold. Only McCheese could claim a success from this. It sounds more like a depression era tragedy to me.
The article didn't say how many properties made up the "over $600,000 in sales". It sounds like a big number though, doesn't it?

Those tax numbers are so ridiculously high, terrible mismanagement in Schenectady.

How many have noticed that, with rare exception, most of the houses are the nice homes in nice neighborhoods.

I just took out 5 minutes, just random streets, the street and number of houses on the streets for sale
Hattie St, 2
Van Vranken Ave, 2
Belmont Ave, 2
Columbia St 1
Eastern Ave, 6
Cutler St 8
Crane St 2
Pleasant St, 5
Bridge St 2
University Pl, 4
Duane Ave, 6
Craig St 1
Emmett St, 2
Delamont St, 1
Paige St 1
Brandywine Ave, 3
Robinson St, 1
Division St, 5
Elm St 4

So how come houses on streets like the above are never shown in the mayor's gala bus tour.  Obviously he wants to make outsiders anyway see only the nicer areas, he can't admit his failure as mayor.  Naturally don't have an city sponsored open house  near boarded up homes or where attendees might get shot.

Then of course, there's his crony Mary D'Al-G, wife of the metroplex architect, the couple that can pay the taxes on their house in Sawyer Frederick's town, but in the city of Schenectady they ARE still deadbeat on BOTH the school AND city/county taxes.  Naturally he wants to help his crony make more money, there's no money to be made selling the lower priced homes.  So spend TAXPAYER MONEY to help the real estate agents get rich.

But some people think that allowing the cronies to be deadbeats and not foreclosing on them, while helping them get rich from only selling more expensive homes,  is worthy of re-electing McCarthy as mayor, but we all notice how those people won't ever post here and speak about the falling home values with increasing taxes.

Increasing Schenectady County sales tax to 10% would result in property tax reductions of over 80%.

Property values would double instantly, making business and residential properties some of the most desirable properties in the area.

Or we could just keep on raising taxes on properties and keep asking ourselves why our properties and businesses want to flee.

It's basic math.

Yeah, a bargain basement sale, other people's loss is someone else's gain, and the man who made it happen brags about it. More rental property should help the crime rate.

Oh but the mayor claims his HOMES (taxpayer funded) program is supposed to bring owner occupants

NOPE.....not from the folks we talked to.
I mean there may be a few here and there who will live there....but I hardly think that's the majority.
