SCHENECTADY — A man was shot and killed on Albany Street in Hamilton Hill late Monday night, police said.
The shooting happened at about 11:12 p.m. near Zaid's Food Market, at 807 Albany St., police said.
The preliminary investigation indicated the man was shot at least once in the chest. He was treated at the scene and taken to Ellis Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
The victim's identity was not immediately released.
City police detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police TIPS line at 788-6566.
The fatal shooting is the third homicide in Schenectady this year and the second in two weeks.
Marquise Solomon, 40, of Schenectady, was shot late June 18 on Swan Street between Albany and State Street. He died of his wounds four days later. No arrests have been made in his killing.
