I noticed Price Chopper on Eastern Parkway at night did not have a light on the flag in front of the store.  I finally decided to bring it to their attention last week since the whole week was dedicated to the US flag.

Within a few days I received a nice email indicating I was correct and they will put a light on it.  So I pushed the envelope thanking them but also asked if they could look at all their stores to see if they needed to illuminate the flags there too.  Their reply was they will follow up on it.

Being fathers day and in honor of my dad a Bronze Star recipient in WWII Pacific Theater it means much to me.  I don't pledge alliance to the flag per sey but what it represents.

It took a year to get the flag pole fixed in Central Park, the flag was worn and only reached 3/4 of the way up the pole.  The lady in the building there was very kind and every few months I would stop in to see if she heard anything on when they they were ever going to fix it. They finally did.

How can we treat something that represents all those lives lost fighting for freedom in such a way is beyond me.

Oh well rant over.

Is the U.S. flag simply a war flag?  Honest question, not being a troll.  Just curious what the symbol of the flag represents for different individuals.

Good question.  I see it as representing a revolution for freedom which means violence and war which is sad.

Wow!  Cissy left troll duty  to ask a serious question!!!

philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.
