Might be some at the mayor's houses for sale.  Here's the May 31 taxpayer funded bus tour of houses.  As usual, green are making repeat appearance

Foster Ave - plan a carpeting/decarpeting job -- looks like the same wall to wall carpeting throughout every room (except kitchen and bath), yet kitchen counters look the same color as the carpeting.  Where's the wood floors?

Rosa Rd - two different countertops in the kitchen?  Weird.  And check out the outrageous wall paper in one bedroom.  Popcorn ceiling.  A fence in the living room ?!?   Also, according to official government records about this house, there is no living space upstairs.  But you can clearly see a bedroom there.   Obviously an illegally created room, obviously electrical, etc was done without building permit, not getting inspected.

Williams St - kitchen is a joke, so laughable it has to be seen. I see code violation, a safety hazard -- an open porch without a railing around it

Chestnut St - totally brand new construction.  Owners will have taxes calculated based on $98,000 assessment.  But wow, listed over a year ago, still no takers, asking price now down to $65,000.

Broad St - two family.  Gotta love the Brandy Bunch kitchen counters.  Hope they just went grocery shopping and that's why all the laundry detergents are on the kitchen counter.   I see code violations too.  Bedroom in the attic and no fire escape, perhaps another room created without a building permit.

Lowell Rd - Really?   They listed it asking $339,900, there were no willing buyers so they increased the asking price to $399,000!   I wonder if that's the owner who wanted it up or the stupid realtor.  Anyone buying that is really not going to be eligible for FHA and other taxpayer subsidized mortgages, so conventional 20% down, if the new owners got a 30 yr mortgage at 3.5%, the monthly principal + interest will be $1,350.   But while they probably won't have to put taxes in escrow, budgeting for them will require setting aside $1,460 per month for taxes!   Typical Schenectady, taxes are more than the house payment.

Waverly Place.  You have to ask how much to people want to live in the city.  Current owners bought this house in April 2013 and it only took them a wee bit over a year and have to decide to get the hell out.  Based on the date listed of January 12 of this year, I would say that when they bought the place, the taxes were paid as part of the closing and they didn't understand it all, and then they got the 2015 tax bill at the end of December 2014 and promptly decided they better get out fast.  They obviously learned that investing in a house in Schenectady means financial loss, it seems the only work they did in the house, other than paint color, is they got rid of the pink toilet and pink sink in the bathroom.  LOL

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Chestnut Street, brand new? Is that one of those "green houses"?
Didn't that area get a lot of new sidewalk? That was supposed to fix the problems with crime, wasn't it? Isn't that where BS paid a million or so to have that woman move her nuisance poverty palace to? As I recall, the people in the neighborhood didn't want it near them.

Yep, that's the Vale neighborhood, the site of the "traffic calming" crime solution. Worked good.
