almost 100 people are homeless and literally lost everything except their lives?
just letting everyone know that there is still more that we can do to help. .
100 people homeless and they paid so that Buicko could live in this palace. 4,000 square foot palace, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, two fireplaces, AND avoid paying one penny of taxes IN Schenectady County.
100 people homeless and they paid so Mallozzi could live in this palace. 3,200 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3 and 1/2 bathrooms.
100 people homeless, lost everything, don't even have a kitchen to cook in, and look at King Philips banquet hall -- paid for by these people and the rest of the taxpayers, totally and FOREVER tax exempt.
Shouldn't King Philip feed these people right here?
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
they may be helping in other ways very quietly...because you do know what happens....everyone starts the "if they have so much then they should give me, my problem is just as important, blah blah blah..."
I agree corporate welfare is a very very sad state of affairs and should be cut off....HOWEVER, if a person wants to help the needy because they can, it should be in the quiet of their own heart/mind.....
a corporation AND a government has no heart/mind, a person does.....
...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......
The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
STOP BEING GOOD DEMOCRATS---STOP BEING GOOD REPUBLICANS--START BEING GOOD AMERICANS
Does mc1 really quote literally every post Dv puts up?
Yes. Tiresome isn't it. Of course that's what trolls do.
"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,"

Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result, and I would expand that thought with “saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it so” nor lead on to think the poster is sane.....
Sure humans are very resilient and we tend to come together when help is needed, but the rich and politically connected certainly do not contribute in an equal ratio to the amount they benefit from there community.
The cronyism and political favors given to those few are what is negative, bad and broken in our community here and I don't see us with any power to overcome it.

I don't think you will get an argument that the 'community' is giving a helping hand. what the shame of this all is.....the 'community', who has squat to begin with due to over taxation, is giving a helping hand to victims in a fire that could have been prevented.....IF....the GOVERNMENT code enforcer did it's job!!!

In all due respect here.....perhaps they do get tax breaks that shouldn't be....but these folks WORK VERY HARD and their service and products are unmatchable. Do your research and see how much they pay in property/school taxes. AND.....these folks took people into their home during hurricane Irene....and fed MANY!!! Give credit where credit is due. Funny how negative news is EVERYWHERE....but positive news is never spoken. Don't mix apples and oranges here.

AMEN TO THAT!
The mayor's cheerleaders won't address such a TRUTH.

First, I would much rather live a life that is hope-filled and run the risk of being falsely accused of being insane/crazy than to live a always-negative, hopeless life like so many nayboobs seem to live.
Second, I find the people, who insist on politicizing this thread, to be the lowest form of scum on the earth. THEY are an example of what is bad - the very worst - in our community.
Finally, I reiterate - that what is good about our community WILL ALWAYS OVERCOME what is bad or broken in our community.

The entire justification for the massive corporate welfare is to raise sales tax revenue and increase the property tax base.

You should ask for a refund from seminary school.
Overtaxed people complaining of homes being taken to finance the rich, are not the lowest scum of the Earth.
You support these actions.
You support kicking people to the curb for not having enough money to support the wealthy.
You have completely misinterpreted every single word of Jesus Christ.
You are an epic failure of a Christian.
And you boast about your intolerance, and constantly berate people for not supporting taking homes and selling them off to support corporate welfare.
Yep, you brag about the pain and injustice being inflicted on the taxpayers and celebrate their demise.
And of course you work for a tax exempt business too.
I'm trying to imagine Jesus stomping on the necks of taxpayers and calling them the scum of the Earth for not giving all their worldly possessions freely to the rich.
