We went yesterday (Saturday), it was packed with people.  I think there were more people there yesterday than there are on black Friday (or Thursday).

Perhaps a good idea would be tear down the mall and put in a dirt track.

Oh yeah, that would be brilliant. Putting a dirt track over the aquifer. I'm assuming your comment was tongue in cheek.

It would have been helpful if you had mentioned why the Mall was packed, so I will.

It was full of Dirt Cars, as well as go karts and even some racing lawnmowers.

Hey, I thought I saw you there. Weren't you the one with pointy ears, drooling, dragging your hairy knuckles on the floor and looking for a cave/bridge/rock to crawl under?

Hope nobody had outstanding tickets, a cop was going through the parking lot last week scanning license plates

I hear the mall is DEAD  most of the time.
hopefully macy's will rent their building out to a company that will draw customers.

The Macy's space would be ideal for a grocery store at the west end of town.

already enuf grocery stores including bj's.
Not to mention that KMART also sell groceries....limited....but groceries just the same....how's that working out for them?
ROTTENdam needs something other than dollar stores, 2nd hand shops and walmart.
I heard macy's was talking to Burlington Coat Factory....that would be an improvement. imo

It would be an excellent location for a Shop-Rite.

The Macy's store is nearly large enough for a county soup kitchen or DSS offices in the western part of town.  Perhaps a not-for-profit or a homeless shelter.

For those that can't read the post from November 9, 2011, this is what it says:

I am predicting a Shop Rite will be built in Rotterdam and/or Glenville within the next 2 years --- maybe even a Wegman's and a Whole Foods should be built on Broadway or Erie Boulevard in Schenectady.

So, what have you to say now, 3 years after you made a prediction that was supposed to occur in only 2 years?

And also from November 2011:

The next Shop Rite will be in Rotterdam.

Quoted from rampage

Where and when?  Put it in writing, the Carnac The Magnificent.

And on Nov 22, 2011
The only thing that i have been researching has been ideas surrounding economic revitalization, some ideas for the parks and recreation commission and a project for my graduate school course.

So, have you gotten your degree yet?  Or flunked out.   What graduate school?

Did you flunk out because learned that when taxpayers have to pay to fund the private businesses, and that allowing rich property owners (with their political connections) who pay only a tiny portion of their full taxes just causes a reduction of the tax base and causes a government to have to increase taxes on homeowners who then can't afford their taxes and then lose their homes causing more properties to come off the tax rolls?

Regardless of the sniveling (To complain or whine tearfully) comments from the troll, Rotterdam Square Mall would be a great location for a Shop Rite and it would be great to get a Wegman's and a WholeFoods in Downtown Schenectady.

You said that there would be a Shop Rite in Rotterdam within 2 years (counting from November 2011).  More than 3 years have passed.

So, have you obtained your graduate degree yet?   In any term paper have you been able to document that the taxpayer financed downtown has resulted in an increased tax base in the city?   Have you been able to document what the homeowners have gotten in return for their forced investment in downtown?  Have you included in your paper documentation that such taxpayer funded projects have resulted in increasing home values, lower taxes, etc?

In your courses, did you provide the documentation that county taxes are lower now than in the 1970's?   Ah, you FAITHFULLY refuse to respond to that comment, obviously because you know you that you were wrong in making that statement, and since you have no understanding of property value, taxes, assessments, etc, you cannot speak on the topic and provide anything to support your comments.
