ROTTERDAM -- Police are searching for a man they say tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his van on the way home from a friend's house.

The incident happened on Wednesday around 3:15 p.m. on Floral Avenue. The boy says the man pulled up to him from behind him and asked where he was going. When the boy said he was going home, the driver asked if he wanted a ride and tried to grab the boys arm. The boy was able to pull away and run.

The driver was described as a white man in his 60s with a bushy white beard. He was wearing a blue and white striped shirt and had a thin build. The van he was driving is described as a Gold older model van with rust around the wheel wells. The van was last seen turning onto Curry Road headed west.
