Yes an unnecessary provocation of the police by some unstable individual in hopes of a confrontation. At the same time I don’t think they needed to follow or approach him, this only nourished his paranoia. If the concern was truly for the safety of the school then place an officer(s) inside the front door of the school until the unbalanced individual passed the grounds. This would not only keep the “open carry a-hole” with nothing to post on YouTube, but keep the need of a confrontation from happening and possibly someone getting killed if this had gone horribly wrong.
