How a Clinton staffer ‘blackmailed’ reporters
By Bob Fredericks
February 10, 2016 | 2:02am
Hillary Clinton’s high-powered press operation “blackmailed” reporters by promising perks in exchange for flattering coverage, according to a report Tuesday.
Using the Freedom of Information Act, Gawker obtained an exchange of e-mails between Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines and Marc Ambinder, a writer for The Atlantic magazine, that demonstrated how the process worked.
Ambinder asked Reines on July 15, 2009, for an advance copy of a speech Clinton was to deliver at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Reines returned a three-word reply saying he’d supply the speech — with conditions.
The writer answered OK, and then Reines sent his demands: Modal TriggerPhilippe ReinesPhoto: Getty Images “1) You in your own voice describe them [Clinton’s remarks] as ‘muscular’ 2) You note that a look at the CFR seating plan shows that all the envoys — from Holbrooke to Mitchell to Ross — will be arrayed in front of her, which in your own clever way you can say [is] certainly not a coincidence and meant to convey something 3) You don’t say you were blackmailed!”
Ambinder delivered the gushing story Reines wanted after getting the speech early to scoop rivals.
Ambinder told Gawker he regretted cutting the deal.
E-mails also revealed that Reines gave then-ABC News reporter Dana Hughes video showing that a reported bee attack on Clinton in Malawi was bogus.
“One more thing since I’m giving you this gift . . . add a line taking a small poke at ‘BuzzFeed and others’ for getting this wrong,” he wrote.
“I don’t have a problem with that at all,” Hughes answered.

In N.H., Democrat Establishment Just STOLE THE ELECTION For Hillary!By Kosar If you didn’t know the Democratic Party rigged the system in favor of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, THIS confirms it! Last night, Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) won the New Hampshire Primary in an overwhelming landslide. Young and old Democrats of all demographics support Sanders over Hillary Clinton. Apparently, they would rather vote for a Socialist than a Democrat who is facing a criminal indictment during a FBI investigation. New Hampshire is the state that started President Bill Clinton’s campaign success, but it could be the end of Hillary Clinton… right? Wrong! Because of the Democratic Party’s nominating system, the Granite State will give Hillary Clinton at least 15 convention delegates… Sanders will only receive 13!
That’s because New Hampshire has only 24 “pledged” delegates which are allotted based on the total popular vote. Sanders wins a majority of those, but new Democratic National Committee (DNC) rules allow party officials to give “superdelegates” to any candidate they want to… And New Hampshire has 8. 6 of those just went to Hillary Clinton as of today, with 2 currently uncommitted. The fix is in! Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Democratic Party bosses just handed the New Hampshire victory to Hillary Clinton: What do you think about the DNC stealing the New Hampshire election for Hillary Clinton? Apparently, Clinton would have won no matter how many voters opposed her last night Read more: http://www.thepoliticalinsider.....llary/#ixzz3zmtTageF |

They should have voted harder....OR...find out how to become one of the eight "super delegates" and select the candidate of their choice. I wonder if the 8 "super delegates" are part of the "collective us"? What happened to one man one vote? Box, do you know? |

What party do you belong to Cissy??? Oh... You don't believe in "party" or anything else concerning our Political process... Ever since you DID vote and your candidate didn't automatically get elected. SOoooooooooooooooo disappointing! Cissy if you want to change the way a party nominates it's members... then you gotta join the party and change it. If not... then what ya bitchin about??? |

So democracy only works if you join a party and change their undemocratic rules? How do you change the undemocratic rules within the party? Democratically? LOL |

Possibly you don't understand... The DEMOCRAT PARTY is NOT YOUR GOVT. It's a party... Just like the Republican Party, Right to Life Party, or any other party. If you want to change the party, then join and petition for change of it's charter and party rules. But Cicero... you don't believe in parties or your govt, or anything to do with your govt. SO... why do you care about some party you don't believe in? |

I don't want to be part of a criminal party, or try to change it. Just want to point out how the Primary charade really works. The king makers within the party make the decision. It certainly is not "democracy in action". C'mon...Think about it...Bernie Sanders isn't even a Democrat, and never was. Do you think the Party is going to let an independent win their party primary? It's a charade. BTW...Do you believe that the TAXPAYER should subsidize these for-show elections for PRIVATE POLITICAL PARTIES? These are Political Parties that raise HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in campaign funding. Why do non-party members have to foot the bill for political party elections? Oh...That's right...The majority congressmen and women that write the laws that subsidizes PRIVATE POLITICAL PARTY ELECTIONS are members of the parties they are subsidizing. Let me guess....I need to join a political party if I want to change that too? |

Nah...I don't complain about it...Just provide commentary about the fraud. Complaining would suggest I have some sort of emotional attachment to politics. Not participating in the criminal process is what will change it. You don't join a drug cartel to change it, you get people to stop buying the drugs they sell. BTW...How do you feel about taxpayer subsidized political party undemocratic show elections? |

I'll take that as you support it...A Private Party publically subsidized. Remind me again what "services" the political parties provide that I "TAKE"? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you did say the political parties are NOT GOV'T. |

You did vote at least once, didn't you. So... who paid for your vote? Who processed YOUR vote? Did they charge you a fee to do that work, or did someone else pay for the processing, counting and recording your vote??? Was it free??? Did YOUR govt pay for it? Or... Oh no... could it be your TAXES paid for it? |
