"an abysmally moronic mayor", "inept like the mayor and most of the council." Credit to JB for the quotes, those two qualities pretty much guarantee re-election in this city. Cherry on top has got to be Paul Tonko showing up and praising the leadership of the Mayor.
The American Red Cross has also set up a special fund which MVP is matching dollar for dollar to help the poor victims of this civic tragedy. .
Word on Jay Street is that this death trap/vertical slum was just given a clean inspection by the City! Fire alarm didn't work-fire doors to the escape locked! Tonko is delusional as this is beyond sickening. Inexcusable total dereliction of duty. In any other City there would be calls for mass resignations. Thank God the ATF is investigating and for once we may get some answers for this horrible civic tragedy.

McCarthy and Tonko are both inept beyond belief.
However we do not know the facts of this fire; calling for resignations before facts are clear is inappropriate.
Now McCarthy should resign for probably 50 other reasons, but this so far is not one of them.
Schenectady fire: 2 more sets of remains found Dog found in fourth floor apartment reunited with owner By Bob Gardinier 3:17 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2015
SCHENECTADY — Two more sets of human remains were found Saturday in the Jay Street apartment buildings destroyed in a massive blaze last week, fire officials said at a 3 p.m. news conference.
Earlier on Saturday, a dog found by firefighters on the fourth floor of one of the fire-ravaged buildings was reunited with its owner.
Saturday morning, as crews were continuing their investigation, they came upon the canine huddled in a corner of an apartment at 100-102 Jay St. Officials said the animal had been holed up there since the fire on March 6. There was still some food it its bowl and frozen water in its dish. They surmise the ice may have helped the dog survive.
Fire officials checked a Facebook page set up by owners of pets that have been missing since the blaze and were able to locate the pitbull mix's owner.
Staci Lydon of Schenectady said she had worried about her dog, Zeus, for 8 days since the fire tore through 100-102 and 104 Jay St., killing at least two people and displacing some 60 residents. She did not live in either building, but her dog was there being cared for by a friend.
Investigators remain on the scene, searching for victims — two people are still unaccounted for and feared dead authorities have said — and trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
Harry Simpson, 59, and Jermaine Allen, 37, were identified Friday as the two victims of the fire whose bodies were recovered from the charred buildings earlier this week. Officials said the cause of death would not be released until the probe by police, fire officials and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, is completed.

Haven't read where cause of fire has ben defined yet...any news? I mean if you are going to encourage people to sue, they must have a basis...cause of fire is start point. Just asking?
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
The cause could be electrical for all I know, negligence on part of the city is what this is about as well property owners not doing their job. There should have been working sprinklers fire alarms and access to the fire escape, but there wasn't,now 4 bodies have been recovered,it's a shame!Just because they were poor and low income they did not have to live under those conditions!
Quoted from deadfred I don't need to encourage them to sue,I am certain they will do so on their own!
Quoted from deadfred i know some of the ppl and I will encourage them too sue!
LOL, nothing like being consistent.

Alva,I don't have time to go back and forth with you over my inconsistencies, ppl have lost their lives and you worried about what I said or didn't say,if your house burnt down would you want ppl to have compassion,or would you want ppl to make a mockery of your misfortune.
DEAD...I asked you the question because you stated you are advising the ppl you know to sue. IMHO that is premature and honestly poor advice, unless you are aware that a cause of the fire has been determined and as such would be a situation where liability could be determined. People are always saying "sue" before they even know the basics.
