Gee tbird, is that all you have to say? Looks like you need that towel!!!!
You're coming in the game in the bottom of the 8th...Alva was here from the start..

I think I read that somewhere, too. But it was done with the new process which apparently is not able to withstand our climates. Sounds like a really poor decision by whomever proposed and approved that process.
The new process was known from the beginning to not hold up as long but less then a year is a real smack in the face

The photo was taken looking south on Erie Blvd, the corner of the building on the left is the building LeGere (sp) owns, this section was only repaired in the location of the old Bargain outlet where 2 major water main breaks have occurred. The new asphalt repair process was not used on Erie Blvd. As for the section of road in question based on the Gazette article the engineer did not deny the fact the road would not be repaired just not to the standards of the lower half due to future construction. It makes perfect sense to repair this section not replace. I agree that maybe the new process is not the best but again we have had some brutal weather the past few years. Millard St was milled and filled last summer and is loaded with heaves presently. I do have to give credit to the administration for attempting to repair what they can with the budget they have to work with, it may not be perfect but at least there is an effort. Also, not in the city but to reinterate my point of weather, west bound I-88 was repaved last fall from Exit 25A to the county line and is deteriorating as we type, again brutal winter, deep frost multiple storms with steel blades beating up the asphalt and tons of salt being dumped.
So; the picture appears to be just past the intersection of Erie and State St. The left corner looks like the building that the Grogge Shop is in which is well before Union Street. According to the article City Engineer Wallin claims that area was repaved. The traffic lights at the intersection are for the intersection where Burger King is at the intersection with Liberty Street. Article implies that area was repaved "up to Union Street".
The picture appears to have been taken on Erie, at the Erie and Nott St. Intersection, looking toward State St. The Rail Road bridge is the one by Mikes Hotdogs. Union St. Is on the other side of that bridge.
Nah, I get it and understand!!! Guess I just thought differently of you...wrong again!!!! My bad.

Well, I am looking forward to the completion of the new Amtrak train station, Mohawk Harbor and a few other projects that are "in the pipeline," That section of Erie Blvd will be repaved and look as beautiful as the other end. The RENAISSANCE continues.

I do stand corrected on this. I (I'm Chris) read through the story quickly and mis-read something in there that I believed to infer that the new section was falling apart . I admit I was wrong on that.
Thank you for that. And I agree the section from Union to Nott is screwed, that's why I won't go that way to the clinic anymore. My alternate route is much better
Oh, and tbird, that is if you really are who you represent yourself as and not another one of mc1's alter egos, right back at ya bub.
At least I and Mike admit when either of us are wrong (this is not the first time)
Some people post lies or incorrect statements, and NEVER admit they are wrong. Like how the county taxes are lower now than in the 1970's. Wow, NEVER an admission of being wrong about that.
And how about "the city is improving" but never admits he is wrong; really, is a massively falling tax base indicative of a city that is improving? Does reduction of essential services, does increasing taxes, does falling home sales, does falling home sale prices, do record high numbers of vacant residential units, do record numbers of tax foreclosures, all indicate a city that is improving???? Never addresses the truth.
Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent. Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
2014 saw many positive developments for Schenectady and 2015 will be even better. I am looking forward to the completion of the new Amtrak train station, Mohawk Harbor and a few other projects that are "in the pipeline," That section of Erie Blvd will be repaved and look as beautiful as the other end. The RENAISSANCE will be spreading to all the neighborhoods and corners of the City-County of Schenectady. The RENAISSANCE continues.

Respectfully disagree. I personally have stepped into your threads when MIKE was wrong and he continued to justify his statements and never admitted "oops"....that's being small, sorry!
And you have to know, you have to have been reading these threads....the information you guys post about local government spending, etc., is of interest. But when each and every thread turns into an attack on DVOR, you lose the attention you are trying to provide. Leave DVOR out of it and things would be so much better. Proven already time and time again, DVOR has no interest in or willingness to discuss things with you, and frankly who cares what he might say. We can all form our own opinions on him and/or what he may state. Some of his comments are in left field and some are spot on....so use your brain at form your own opinions and the hell with DVOR's. JUST MHO!!!!
JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!!
